  1. yikes.... well the ice isn't forming that quickly. even with several days of -20 its only 2" thick and mostly white ice which is very soft. Lots of spots one spud bar hit goes right through. I didn't venture out far.
  2. Good stuff. Cant imagine how cold that would feel.
  3. A lot colder north of you iron. Only looking at high of 1 and 2 for Monday Tuesday with still minus nights. Sunday still -8 high.
  4. just checked the ice near me. three spud bar hits and broke through. measured about 1.5"-2". But its ugly ice, surprised its slushy considering its -16 out.
  5. Thanks guys. Interesting to see. Kawarthas looks all frozen up but all the lakes in the muskoka area look wide open still.
  6. Hoping to be up in Huntsville or gravenhurst. The weather seems cold enough but the amount of snow could make it dangerous and really slow production.
  7. 14 day is showing minus double digits every night, and decent minus degrees during the day. Snowfall might slow down the ice though. Hoping within two weeks ice will be relatively safe
  8. Call Tim hales. Never know when they have they’re huts out. I’m sure if it’s safe they’ll be out as soon as they can
  9. Forecast for the next two weeks looking really cold. I’d imagine with two weeks of solid cold weather a lot of lakes will be fairly frozen. Sturgeon is frozen as far as I can see, not sure how thick though, and that’s only 2 days.
  10. I’ve owned two different Polaris machines before and had zero issues. Had a scrambler and predator.
  11. Guess I should add I’m looking for a two seater so only looking at Polaris and can am haha. Thanks anyways though
  12. Looking for a used ATV. And wondering what’s good mileage or what’s considered high mileage per year.
  13. Looking at getting one possibly soon. Ive looked at all the brands, Yamaha, Polaris, Honda, Arctic Cat. Seems they're all around the same price (15000) for a 700ish with power steering. Anyone own or have experience with them? Make any recommendations?
  14. lots of people had this idea. Never seen so many boats on Sturgeon all fishing for musky. Was a crowded lake for Musky this Saturday, the east end had boats everywhere all look like they were musky fishing.
  15. Ya this was my implication of the original post. Some of your guys comments lol.... The guy said he kept the musky he catches to eat. He was saying all the fish he caught. I was being facetious when I replied to him and he shrugged it off because he didn't realize I knew the regs. Anyways. The replies you guys come up with are something else.
  16. We were looking at some waterfront cottages and one cottage we looked at the owner was there and started talking about how many musky he catches in sturgeon lake. He then went on to say how he loves the taste of musky meat and keeps them. I kindly reminded him the limit is one and over 40". He quickly replied with oh theyre all over that size.....guess that's why I only catch small musky in sturgeon lake now
  17. Weird, its scaley like a walleye. Was it smooth like a pike? or was it rough like a walleye?
  18. Id guess somewhere between 3.5-4lbs. but tough to say. I See people post pictures of "8lb" fish, that look the same size so who knows.
  19. I think the pictures more relevant to people eating bass, haha apparently you like bass. where can you keep 12 bass?
  20. that area of the 400 is awful. Theres always accidents there. They need to re-engineer that section.

  22. Oh didnt know there was another group. They had a nice bass boat with the logo on it. Seemed like a lot of people were at this event, cant be all that bad news if they had a lot of people out for a weekend of fishing.
  23. decide if you want a fishing boat that can pull tubes, or a ski boat that you can fish out of. Whats more important. That will really help you decide. usually the glass boats are ski first fish second, aluminum is the opposite.
  24. Used the Bimini a lot this year. Seems to rain every weekend. If you only have 2 days to fish and its calling for rain....Ill probably be out in the rain. If its rain and heavy winds, looks like im watching golf.
  25. I saw a big OFC sign and an OFC bass boat on Sturgeon lake this past weekend (July 8th and 9th). I didnt see anything on this board about it, and I cant see OFC standing for anything else in fishing world. They were staying at Fish N rest resort cottages.
