  1. Try the Hamilton Harbor Pier, browns might still be shallow. Back in towards the mouth of Grindstone/Cootes for Pike.
  2. Glad to hear that your father is on the mend
  3. Hey you might wanna start cleaning up for the wedding, with a mug like that it may take a few days!
  4. We saw a hen and Tom north of Dorset (HWY 60) Sunday afternoon, that is the furthest North we have seen them so far.
  5. Tim, Welcome to the Board.
  6. I prefer casting cannonballs.
  7. Awesome report, looks like you had a perfect day.
  8. Cliff, Susan and all who were in attendance. Michelle and I had a great time. It was nice to finally put some names and faces and er handles together. Look forward to seeing you all again. Michelle will post some pics of the drive to Algonquin later on. Cliff (CCMT) finally saw a turkey that I could absolutley verify was not you, it didn't have a beard! LOL
  9. Welcome to the board, that is a beautiful Steelie. Congrats.
  10. Here is the problem I have with this suggestion.... 10 years ago, before I met Michelle, I had a great pond in the Notty Valley, it was full of Specs and Huge Largemouth. I took 2 "newbies there and got them into some great fishing". Well not to be outdone they in turn took there friends there and well you get the idea.....10 years ago a beauty pond that I had to myself is now full of carp, full of crap on the shores and gone are the big bucket mouths and specs. If you want to learn, get out to the Niagara River, or Port Dalhousie, or Credit or 16 Mile or Bronte or one of the other 30 or so well known spots around Lake O, learn some new techniques, make some friends, give people confidence that you will respect the resources and are like minded as far as conservation goes, then someone will take you to a honey hole. In Ontario we have so many angling opportunites, that I think it is hardly neccasary to post hot spots on the board. One of the favourite things that Michelle and I have done over the years is to get a Back Road map, turn to a page and start exploring the waters on that page.
  11. Not too many police officers would shae this same opinion. Further to this, I thought that in a not organic/live bait zone that iw was illegal to posess live bait. I am sure that is how the regulations use to phrase it, however in the new regulations I could not find a direct refferance. Anyways ...........Looks Like a Duck, Quacks Like A Duck, Probably a Duck.
  12. The Euro is trading at about 1.50Dollars/Euro. Most things are more expensive, alot of the added expense is due to higher taxes. Also as a side point there wages are comparible to ours, however most people do the 99 year mortgage thing and pas their place and mortgage onto the kids.

  14. In the river, you know the one in the picture! Sorry bud, Michelle and I have spent a lot of time finding secluded river streaches with in a few hours of home, we are not giving them up that easily. I might suggest you get a backroad book and hit al the streams between Hamilton and Tobermory. There are some beautiful streches of rivers.
  15. As many of you know, opener was a big disappointment for Michelle and I. The fishing was great, it was the many people we saw abusing our resources and break the law that really bothered us. On Sunday we headed to another spot, a little closer to home this time. We had a beautiful strech of river all to ourselves. The water was running closer to seasonal norms and the water was gin clear. The first pool produced no fish, although we could see a few sitting on the limestone bottom. After about 20 minutes we headed upstream to the next pool. This one was deeper and the bottom was dark black. Michelle made the first cast and this beautiful hen came out of the black and hammered her pink rooster tail. We continued up stream to a few more pools. The riverbank was alive with wild flowers and animal tracks were everywhere. I managed a few beautiful specs and a rainbow smolt: It was a beautiful way to end the weekend.
  16. Ok Ladies, think it is time for some off you to find another way to pass the time!

  21. Awesome report, love the gin clear water!
  22. Have to second this Lew, bought ares 6 years ago(got previous years colour for a reduced price, around $235.00) no problems. Ways less then 5lbs, no leaks no tears and we use it alot. Spent many a night in down pours with no wet bag in the morning.
  23. We used beacon Mortgages in Port Dalhousie. Barry was great, got us exactly what we wanted. 1.25% below what TD and RBC offered. Very flexible payment - weekly acclerated is what we choose. Also god pre-payment - increase payments by up to 15% per year, lump sum prepayment of up to 20%/year and option to double up payments. Shop around till you find a broker that you are comfortable with. Also a ggod real estate lawyer or real estate saleperson should be able to reffer you to some of the more reputable brokers in your area.
  24. Beauty report!!
