  1. We're going to lose a bunch of snow from today thru to Wednesday, but it's supposed to stay at or below zero for at least a week by next weekend so I should be able to stay on the ice until the end of the month (we haven't really lost any ice yet but the snow conditions suck)
  2. Killer Mike and RTJ are always in heavy rotation in this house
  3. Dana, a couple guys I fish with run the hockey stick-ups, only they run the piece of fishing rod of a doorstopper mounted on the stick, and a rattle reel. They work very well
  4. A man can dream...
  5. It's a beast. Knowing that, I should've brought a scale with me last year, because I'm sure we got a couple that were solid 13-14 pound fish at least. Anyways, good for the kid but I will absolutely crush that record in that short order haha
  6. Absolutely delicious, and yes Nip would've had good ice on the 16th.
  7. Yep. You won't need to ask OFC for anything, that's for sure, just make some friends. I couldn't fathom moving down south again.
  8. You should see how much the tourism board paid him to write this... Just kidding (obviously), the big chartreuse jigging rap globbed up with half minnows was the ticket big time.
  9. Good job, they can be infuriating at the best of times, but awesome fun to catch, especially on the short rods!
  10. Nice whitie selfie, looks like a tank.
  11. I have an option for a great private camp rental on Kipawa (turtle PT/hunters lake area) for a reasonable price. Water access on a beautiful area of the lake. PM me if you want contact information for the guy or any other info.
  12. From what I remember about years past with that derby, a six pounder is quite a trophy from that lake eh...must've felt great to get the win and even better to help out a local family in need.
  13. Amazing opportunity you've got there, very cool!
  14. hahahahaha the sweater!!
  15. Likely the best live recording ever released...absolutely spellbinding
  16. Use a tip-up that will freespool, or set a rod in a holder with the drag backed right off (just enough to support the weight and bait)
  17. You've got your chase technique figured out. Awesome video. After wading through 2 feet of snow plus another foot of slush underneath, I'm jealous of your nice bare ice
  18. 100% but you aren't going to convince people otherwise with videos like this.
  19. You've got great taste, man! Listening to Ryan Adams' version of this incredible Gram Parsons tune!
  20. Here's some kickarse gritty country-rock!
  21. Small minnows, small hooks, small line. Ive caught them in 35 feet, and in 7 feet, always well off bottom. Spread out on good structure and stay put. They wont stay put on one piece of structure, although they usually will be shallower in the fall and winter than in the summer. I would focus on 6-12 feet.
  22. I was expecting something scientific, not one time lapse video of one fish being handled. It looks very plausible, but theres not really much you can take from one brookie developing some rash sitting in a tank.
  23. Foot of snow yesterday, and another 10 cm this morning, now crazy wind gusts!
  24. Now that is hilarious
