A laker is one of the few freshwater game fish that I have never caught, but it looks like a hell of a time. One of these days ill get out on the ice and catch some fish, but I just cant get past the fact that I hate the cold, i hate ice, and Id rather wait untill softwater season, lol.

Ill let you in on a little secret. The whole damn lake is 2-5 feet deep. People do well on Scugog, but you really have to know the lake well and find the spots (few) that arent 6 inches deep. lol

Well since I know jack about ice fishing, Id probably fish the same areas I would in the summer...

Check out a bike store, there is so many kinds of lubes it will make your head spin. Ive got about 7 at my house for every condition from 30 below to pouring rain. There is a whole bunch of dry lubes as well.

Well I have a lack of snowmobile, and mom says that there is no way I'm using her Aztec in place of one. dang.

Ive noticed a bunch of metal/prog fans here. I like bass season. In fact, I really enjoy bass season alot, does everybody remember bass season? You know, that time where we cant walk on the water and it isnt five hundred below outside?

The science teacher was telling me something about pennies not being made of 100% copper anymore. We did some experiment that involved putting a slice in the penny and dropping it in a solution, when it was all over the penny was hollow because the metal in the middle reacted with the solution but the copper on the outside didnt.

No kidding, went to my dads hockey game last night and when I RAN to the car (which was about 70 miles away, you know what I mean if youve ever been to Iroquois arena in whitby) and the thermo in the car said it was -24. Thats without windchill. Yikes.

Well ive got two of my reels on the desk in front of me, in about 6000 pieces, this being the second time ive cleaned and regreased them this winter. You know, in case I missed something the firist time. I also respooled the steelhead rod and tied up a bunch of leaders just in case it warms up and I get some open water to fish!

I've seen that water before. Ill be in your spot tomorrow with 30 friends, all of us will be carrying white buckets. nice fish dude.

So when we read that the giant nickle from sudbury has been stolen... by the way, for scrap that big nickle is worth about $73 000, nickle is on the rise, so if you wait a few days you might get more out of it. lol.

Well I was about to head down to the mouth today to try my luck for some steelies but when I stepped out the door my nostrils stuck together, my eyelids froze open and I could no longer breath. Note to self, do not leave the house when it is -28.

Well, this is it for me. The cabin fever has set in. My trib froze up last week, so no more steelheading, and I dont ice fish. What the Heck can I do untill late february when my trib opens up and I can target the ever elusive steelhead again?

Fixed, and I didnt even have to smash it. Just threatened it with the hammer and all is fine.

The dang huge one.
