  1. Nice brookies!!! 4lb mono and #0 and #1 barbless spinners. I'd also keep an eye on the water temp. If it's close to 70 degrees, you might wanna fish for something else. Trout have a real hard time recovering in warm water like that... Also, make sure you get your hands wet before picking them up, or even pick up a small trout net and leave them in the water.
  2. Mike, which vehicle are you planning on doing this to? Don't both the Accord and the Nissan have low miles? You shouldn't have that much build up yet, especially with all the highway driving you do. Personally, I'd disconnect the vacuum tube going to the brake booster and do it that way. But be prepared for a GIANT smoke show
  3. Fidel, there are flying lures in my oldmans tackle box :) They rock for pitching under docks, lol
  4. Mike, don't go to the river without a couple sets of these.....
  5. I've tossed chrome bottomed baits at night and caught fish.... I've tossed black baits on bluebird days and caught fish. Colour when it comes to topwater isn't a very important factor if you ask me.. I'd be looking at size and lure action over colour.. But what do I know
  6. Got a couple of those, used to use them in Erie for pickerel.... I think we even caught salmon on them downrigging, lol
  7. No complaints on my Compre yet... For the price and the lifetime warranty you can't beat it in my opinion.
  8. Dave, it was obvious in your fly fishing episode that there was a stunt double and all kinds of funny camera work. We all know you're just out there flogging sponser names and not doing any of this for the joy of it, or to help out the general public. Oh, btw, all that charity work you do? (Dave Mercer’s Casting for a Cure comes to mind....) complete Bull man, we all know those charities just funnel the $$$$ back into Mr.Mercers bank account I just don't get some people dude, your tops in my book man!!! (BTW that gar episode still kills me anytime I watch it)
  9. Holy crap a 40hp!!!!! 3 weeks to late man!!!! That rail system looks awesome Mike, I could have put the TV on it!!!
  10. BUDDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Spinning rods and muskie baits shouldn't be used in the same sentence.. If you plan on throwing big baits, a casting setup is the only way to go...
  12. Love my custom 3 piece 13' Loomis IM6 float rod.. Also like my 13'6 GL3 However, I wouldn't trade my Avid baitcaster for anything, absolutely love it... I also love my 8' Shimano Compre muskie stick also, lol
  13. Like people have said, atleast he speaks his mind. He is the biggest supporter for more CO's on the water, so I can't see this blanket hate he has for the MNR. Is he pissed with what they've done with the money that comes from our licenses and fee's? Hell yeah, and I'm sure if you knew what it went to, you'd be pissed to. I do think he needs to ease up on eating everything he catches and maybe practice a bit more catch and release, but there are far worse shows on OFC then the Cronz.
  14. Regardless of water conditions, or waves, or whatever I can't see a good excuse for not getting an exact measurement on a fish. If it's close and you are unsure, throw it back. He got what he deserved.
  15. Oh the chaos that is going to insue. I might go down to the waterfront and watch the natives, lol
  16. That's easily over 40, probably pushing 45. Get him one of those fish charts, laminate it and make sure you tape it to his boat
  17. Post it anyhow, we can argue if it's a musky or not
  18. Ah geez Wayne, I'm sorry. I know what it's like to lose a sibling, not something I'd wish upon anyone. Stay strong man.
  19. The Barrie marina produces some monsters!!!!!
  20. That's a good way to kill a muskie. You shouldn't for any reason keep him on the line any longer then necessary.. If he breaks you off, he breaks you off. I'd rather lose a lure because of a break off, then kill a fish because I fought it for 30 mins... Lures are cheap, great muskie genetics aren't.
  21. Wow, a 17lb'er? That's been in there a while. That definitely wouldn't have been a result from the restoration project I worked on 2 years ago in the Pool with the MNR.
  22. The same thing.. There isn't much you can do....
  23. OOD gave you pretty much all the info you'd ever need. Take the magazine with you.
  24. Yup, that north shoreline (if I have my directions right) is really nice. Shear dropoffs all the way out until the river widens... I've caught some big smallies tossing the docks right at the dinner time rapids. Might wanna try a few tube jigs/topwaters at dusk. Nice pike in there also.
