  1. Make sure if you aren't using it, you have the cover on it. That's the biggest killer of ice augers..
  2. I think the big thing is having confidence, especially when steelheading. That's one thing I still struggle with. I start to second guess myself, and then it's over, lol. I've seen you land more fish on 6lb Maxima in gin clear water then I care to remember
  3. If it's gin clear and froggy then I'll usually run flouro (Steelheading) more times then not I'm running 4/6lb Maxima.. It definitely takes a beating compared to the flouro from what I've seen. One little nick in flouro and it's over, mono takes a beating especially for how cheap it is. I like to use flouro when jigging for whities and lakers in the winter as a lead (3-4ft with a micro swivel to 6lb Fireline Crystal). If I'm tossing big muskie baits for the toothy critters, it's 100-130lb flouro leads for sure, those lures are to expensive to lose
  4. Awesome as usual Brandon!
  5. Nothing wrong with knocking the attitudes of the juniors down a bit, never a bad thing to lose in the prelims
  6. Bad goaltending didn't help, but the entire team not showing up for the 3rd period didn't help... Look at all the corner battles they lost in the 3rd. Embarrassing.
  7. Same thing happened to us on Cooch the other day.. Furious action then around 11am or so it shut right off. Lucky for us we had a pail full by the time that happened, so we just packed up and left. Biggest fish of the day was just under 14inches.
  8. The walleye is pretty much non-stop up there, basically we fish for them when we are taking a break from pike fishing.
  9. I think I saw myself lol
  10. BBP has zero. Well unless you wanna count the first 100ft of ice off the bank, lol.
  11. Dude, you gotta give me your number if you want me to call you :)
  12. Not going out on Simcoe yet, I have another place with 6+ inches of ice that I've been fishing.
  13. Lower Niagara right now? Big ass emerald shiners..
  14. Ah so they are only a 'little bit' guilty because they hunted all week and got nothing?
  15. The other add they had was 'Nothing throws a bulldog like a St.Croix' with a giant pissed off bulldog attached to the line via his harness. I wish people wouldn't take crap so literally. I can't imagine what's running through someones head who's actually getting MAD at an ad like that.
  16. Photoshop is a wonderful thing
  17. Huh? If you shoot a moose out of season, it's poaching, I dunno how much simpler it gets.
  18. Great pics Joey! I wanted to stay up, but work would have been a bear the next morning (As it seems it was for you! lol)
  19. I gotta pick up the casting deck for mine and I'd be all set. Going to use it this summer for back lake bass fishing, should be a riot. Not to mention all the sneaky spots Mr.Wallace and I will be into in the spring
  20. The Niagara is loaded with browns right now. Accessible from either the Canadian or US side.
  21. I just got a Canada Outdoors magazine and some guy sent in a pic of a 12.3lb 25in bass, lol.. I about pissed my pants.
  22. Thanks man, I'm just waiting for the whities and lakers this year out on Simcoe. Can't wait!!!
  23. Crap, I forgot to mention the tin foil!!!!!!!!! lol
  24. A nice fat striploin, blue/rare.. I've been cooking my steak in the oven as of late with a cast iron skillet. I gotta say it rivals the BBQ... Pre-heat oven to 500 degrees with the skillet inside. Steak needs to be room temp with a little salt/pepper. Take skillet out of oven and place over high heat on burner, 30 seconds on one side, then back in the oven for 1 mins. Flip and another 1 minute, then rest for 5 mins before cutting into it. Perfect steak.
  25. Was already out and laid a nice little beating on some jumbos Going out again very soon. A good 6inches of ice where I was, no problems.
