  1. Tyler, water temps on the lake I was fishing were around the 60-61 degree mark. I'm hoping once things get to 65-68 range the pike will be willing biters on anything. We boated a dozen yesterday and probably had at least that many follow up and just nip at the rear hooks, lol. Was a nice change of pace from tossing streamers for residents though!
  2. Definitely noticed the short strikes this weekend, nipping at the end of my slashbaits. Wait until the water warms up a bit, then the topwater bite should turn on. Early season pike fishing is all about being slow... I was pausing up to 3-4 seconds this weekend while running FlatRaps/XRaps and it paid off pretty good.
  3. What you are referring to is A-GPS (cell tower triangulation) Alot of phones these days have a true GPS receiver. (iPhone, HTC, etc etc) that work just fine even when out of cell range.
  4. Man that thing is a cow!!!!
  5. Retentions is a great department, I've saved quite a bit by threatening to leave (Bell and Rogers)
  6. A vertical hold isn't going to do anything to that little 29incher. Do that to a 50 incher and you know what would hit the fan here, lol..
  7. Nope, pike. Just waiting for some nice weather to make the run I'm thinking about. 3rd sat in June for muskies on Gbay if I'm not mistaken.
  8. Definitely a pontoon, I love mine. Especially with the electric on the back! Also you stay up and out of the water, that's a huge bonus. I wouldn't dare take a float tube to some of the places I fish with my pontoon. Especially in the fall/winter.. You'd freeze to death.
  9. I'll be out in Gbay somewhere
  10. Wayne, pretty much standard on all Euro cars.. I grabbed that off a local VW site. I assumed all 7 prong were the same (Damn europeans!)
  11. Here's a diagram.. Most likely corrosion like you said. Not very complicated.
  12. Save your $$$ and do it yourself. I haven't had a mechanic touch my car since I was 15. Cars and trucks aren't as complicated as people think. Might be a bit daunting at first, but a shop manual and a little common sense go a long way.
  13. Luckily I don't use the locks! lol. Wayne, any idea on the reason for closure? Weather related?
  14. Not likely. Now PartSource will scan it for free without issue. Most shops I know will charge you an hours rate to scan your car.
  15. Most likely a voltage issue that caused the CEL for the airbag.. Get it reset and see if it comes back.
  16. Buy the MaxiTrip from PA.. You can scan and clear the codes. Get the codes, look them up on Google or similar and fix whatever you need to fix.
  17. My bad, I was thinking pontoon as a one man, float down the river type boat
  18. No problem running over 30mph with our 15' Legend and 40hp 4stroke Honda.
  19. I could see if there were muskie in that lake, but pike aren't going to affect the bass population much. Hell, let's have a bass tournament in Algonquin to get rid of all the smallmouth!!!
  20. There are very few rivers in Ontario in which the land owners have streambed rights. Very very few. Size has nothing to do with it.
  21. That thing is a tank!!! Good job Aaron!
  22. For the $300 they cost, I'd just buy one (I did)
  23. If you are releasing those beauts make sure to pinch your barbs! I agree with you as well, nothing beats chasing some stream brook trout. I was out in Grey/Bruce last night with the 4wt, caught about 2 dozen on dries.
  24. Chris, did you and your wife walk by my place 2 days ago? I swear I saw you across the street, lol.
