  1. A lot of those stockers have some really weird stuff going on with them (fins laid down flat, weird jaws, missing parts, lol)
  2. 5+ years with a Humminbird, zero problems. Lots of Lowrance leghuppers in this thread.
  3. It seems the MNR has a handle on using broad stock from Nipigon to stock all of Ontario with brookies, weird they wouldn't take stock from an already self sustaining fishery out east.
  4. No need to say that either, lol! Unless you're combat fishing.
  5. Sweet! I'm sure he enjoyed the noise Other steelheaders will probably give you a few strange looks if they hear that. Just an FYI As far as flouro goes I keep mine in the fridge. Been running the same leader spool for over a season now without issue.
  6. Call corporate and complain. Who cares if the warranty wasn't filled out correctly, it was still bought and paid for and that motor should covered regardless.
  7. A clicker isn't a drag, all you're going to do is make a lot of noise, lol.
  8. Improved clinch with flouro, even double it up sometimes. Also make sure you pull the tag end when you tighten it down.
  9. Tree River for arctic char, Situk for steelhead just to name a few.
  10. Brandon, awesome tips! The only reason I was using a low ISO was to reduce noise (which it didn't, lol).. High ISO next time for me!
  11. Why not use broad stock from out east?
  12. Out in the lake, people confuse browns with atlantics more then any other species. How many times have we had a threads here asking us to identify fish, lol.
  13. A tripod, ISO 100 and the largest aperture you got. A 15 second exposure should get you something like this as long as you have no light pollution. This was taken at f/3.5, ISo 250 15second exposure. Night sky. by billmarz, on Flickr
  14. And Dave's not fibbing, that's a small one compared to the other ones we caught, lol.
  15. No wonder the resident browns I catch keep getting bigger and bigger Great feed! I'd love to see just 1 or 2 stocking seasons of cohos or steelhead. People would crap their pants at the return.
  16. For pike? A big Williams whitefish would be my choice.
  17. The 10hrs to Parks will be worth it, trust me.
  18. We built my neighbours 20x20, all in all it was around 10-11k. Doing it yourself saves a lot of $$$.
  19. Sell it, buy a Lund Tyee Grand Sport or similar.
  20. Buy a sim card once you get to Beijing and never worry about roaming charges.
  21. Slight elevation changes in Simcoe can pay off like crazy... Usually the fish come up on the mud flats to feed, then slowly retreat back to the deeper haunts. And like I said before, you gotta run and gun out there.
  22. Nice fish, can't beat those Erie tribs for numbers
  23. Craig, let me know if you wanna get out for whities this year. We can get around pretty quick on the sled and the Clam is great for windy days
  24. Brian, those small stretchy cotton gloves work perfectly.
  25. I'll be adding a bottle of the red stuff before I fill the tank and put the Lund to sleep this winter. Now if I could only find a damn transom saver to fit this ShoreLand'r roller trailer I'd be happy
