  1. Oldman put a 15lb'r in the boat last weekend.. That's the second nice pike he's gotten this year while fishing for eyes...
  2. All pumps need to be labeled if they contain ethanol or not. So keep your eyes open
  3. Best thing a newbie fly fisherman can do is hire a guide.. He'll teach you how to rig, what to fish, how to fish, and give you a little insight into the local trout population. Money well spent.
  4. Sites like www.bluenile.com have better prices then you'll find up here. Certified diamonds, great customer service, can't beat them.
  5. I wouldn't expect Joc to replace a used reel with a new reel, that's a stretch. I'm sure Islander will take care of you.
  6. Great fish, a few of those look very 'splake-ish'
  7. Total spin time is useless, how's the startup? That's what you should be worried about.
  8. Al, remind me to ask you next year if I can go in and catch a few :)
  9. Pretty much, that's insane.. I paid $23 for 2 dozen big sucker minnows last week and I thought that was expensive, lol!
  10. Just like you would a bag/bead.
  11. I wouldn't cure it... Tie up what you'll use and water freeze/vacuum pack the rest.
  12. TJ owes you some cash! LOL!
  13. This is what we catch! Bonnethead sharks! This little guy was about 36inches.
  14. Kemper, are you straightening hooks or just popping them? My hookup/landing ratio is pretty good.. If I get hooks into them, they rarely if ever come off. Although my Loomis IMX and IM6 is nothing like that XST, lol!
  15. LOL!
  16. My fav thing to toss in Florida is a Doc's Goofy jig and half a shrimp. Have caught pretty much everything on that.. Pomps, whitings, ladyfish, sheepheads, bonnet head sharks!
  17. Did a drift a few weeks ago, had 30 or so turkeys fly across the river, lol! That was a sight.
  18. That's not a Pomp, eyes are way too big as is the mouth.. Looks like Jack to me.. Vicious fish! Second is a red snapper.
  19. How the hell did that come up for Lake Simcoe muskie? LOL
  20. Geez dude, 35.5in? That thing is a monster! As far as thick wire hooks, Diiachi X510 in 10's, 8's and 6's.. You'll never bend them regardless of tippet.
  21. ^---- LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bruce, you crack me up man :clapping:
  22. Peter, give some sucker minnows a try. Fish are on the feed, a big snack is exactly what they are looking for. I've caught 12in walleyes on 4-5in sucker minnows, not to mention some big snakes!
  23. Whatever the OP gets, make sure it's a High Thrust motor.. I don't think I've had my T8 over 1/4 throttle ever, regardless of conditions, lol.
  24. AL East is going to be stacked!!!!!!
  25. In the fall I like running big sucker minnows. Have done well on the eyes and a few big snakes the past 2 weeks on them.
