What do you take on a fly in, that's well, different?
Mister G replied to Headhunter's topic in General Discussion
Plano boxes holding your baits and then put them in a white buckets that has a good snap on lid....it's light and WATER PROOF ! ! ! They are indestructible and can be left out in the boat in all kinds of weather. You can mark them with a magic marker of what's in them........also DUCT TAPE -
My new 2015 PolarKraft Frontier came with a small bracket/step used to board on the starboard side of the transom. It folds down and snaps into place very easily then flips up when not in use and it's made of METAL ! ! ! I think all new boats should have one.

Don't all of us guys, have their rod in hand while peeing......
-
I have something similar..........a old one qt plastic square jar that has a large opening with a screw on lid. When not in use I fill it up with lake water to hold it down in the splash well area of my boat. I have had it for years also and last year actually put a little bleach in it because it was getting a green moss inside....LOL

And think about getting "Dual Purpose" batteries that are good for starting and deep cycle use or just deep cycle for those small 9hp motors.............if they don't run long distances you still might have battery failure.
-
Not really, when I ordered my new boat back in early March the dealer and myself measured a 90hp Yammy on a boat and a 90HO E-Tech and really could not see much if any difference. I would think that a regular 90 hp might be even less in length but we did not measure that motor.

Most males who fall overboard are found with their flies open........guys use a pee can and please don't relieve yourself over the gunnel.

I also would recommend a "on-board" charger because it also extends the battery life by YEARS....I would use the Pro Series 6 or something similar. I had a Pro Series 12 for about 10 years until I got my new boat and moved up to the Pro Series 20+. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Boating/AutoBoat-Batteries-Chargers/On-Board-Chargers-Inverters%7C/pc/104794380/c/104698080/sc/104465880/Cabelas-Advanced-Anglers8482-ProSeries-On-Board-Marine-Battery-Chargers/1309718.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fon-board-chargers-inverters%2F_%2FN-1100565%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104465880

1/8oz all black jig and about 1" pinch of a nightcrawler will do the same as a leach.

Call a prop shop and explain what's happening........they will know if it's a spun prop and steer you in the right direction.

Isn't golf for those who failed at fishing ......

BINGO............my brand new 179 WT Polar Craft with a 90 high output E-Tech (it's really a 115hp that's detuned to a 90) fits length wise pretty well with about 6" to spare (swing trailer). HOWEVER, it has only 4" (2" on each side) to clear the garage door and I have to be VERY careful or crunch goes the boat trailer and garage door opening. ALSO it only has about 3" to clear the garage door with the windshield when hooked up to the truck. I was going to just get a 16 footer instead of the 18' but the dealer said it uses the same 102" wide trailer...........so I might as well fill up the trailer, eh !

Had several dogs when I was a kid and the only time one seen a vet when he got rolled by a car......don't worry Chico was OK....... But since then my "wife" has taken the dog to the vet for just about ANYTHING but I never heard about a test for last years heart work test.........and BELIEVE me she makes sure her puppy gets check for everything......and we have a nice who's a vet....damn where that family discount ! ! !

SOON very SOON they will not only tell you what % sunblock you must wear but also you must wear a life jacket at all times for any watercraft under 26'........(wealthy boat owners will be except) BTW when was it the last time you read about someone dying because they only had 45' of anchor rope ?!?!?!?

Petition to allow more walleye restocking on Lake Nipissing
Mister G replied to LNSA_'s topic in General Discussion
LNSA, I feel for you guys up there.....you're between a rock and hard place....I hope something breaks your way SOON........it's been a LONG time since I fished the Big Nip and always enjoyed it, but to be honest there is no way I'm traveling that far to pound fruitless waters when I have too many other choices to choose from. -
Petition to allow more walleye restocking on Lake Nipissing
Mister G replied to LNSA_'s topic in General Discussion
It seems to me that the MNR is trying to break the NFN by reducing the walleye population on the Nip so it no longer makes sense to commercial fish there, then buy them out. If so, then your efforts are contour-productive to what they have in mind. -
I guess NYS changed their minds..........NO ticket if you click it ! ! ! http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/outdoors/outdoors-notebook-dec-notice-now-allows-fish-photos-20150530 This make much more sense.................... Let the stupid argument continue.............LOL

Mister G replied to LNSA_'s topic in General Discussion
If the MNR is your stopping point to stock more fish then turn to the NFN to stock the fry you raised. I'm sure they will be not only be willing to stock them but to also net them as well. BTW from what I understand stocking fry has a VERY low rate of return.......something like only 1%. Wouldn't you be better off stocking fingerlings ? Also Lake Erie bounced back once the commercial fishermen were bought out on the US side. So buying out the commercial fishermen on the Nip is really the answer but for some reason we all dance around that problem all while it's staring us in the face. -
Can't back up a trailer? Ford has an answer for that...

Yes, we were all first timers but even then I knew enough that the boat should be READY to launch once you back into the launch lane. You should not be loading that ugly vessel on the ramp because the ramp is for only two things, launching and retrieving not loading and dilly dalling around like your the only one who needs the launch..........
