  1. I have heard of these things call "golf course" but never really seen one. A friend of mine heard they were built for those who failed at fishing......
  2. YEP, kind of makes you wonder............
  3. Cherish those moments because once they get hooked on video games it's a habit hard to break.
  4. Which brings up another good point.....The more you help them the more there are to help and the cycle continues and that population continues to grow in leaps and bounds..
  5. Typical tree huger Bull article.
  6. If you have no intentions of selling it then clean them up and it will display very nicely. If you do want to flip it for a profit don't even take the dust and grime off of it until you talk to a collector. Like I said if they are judged like firearms the collectors want all the patina (rust), dust and grime that comes with aging of the item. I know, sounds weird but I'm not a vintage collector so maybe someone else can chime in and explain that.
  7. Nice looking combo, do you have any info on it ? Not sure about vintage rod/reel combos but with firearms it's a NO NO to clean them up. If you do, you lose a LOT of the value if you sell it. You might want to check on that before doing anything to that combo.
  8. If the on-board charger is a smart charger it should not boil them dry and if it does you might have defective on-board charging system. I have had mine for many years now and I have stated it extended my starting battery for 9 years plus maintained my batteries (3) ALL the time I'm not fishing and even during winter storage. I also don't remove them in the winter, too heavy to lift. I really believe this extends years onto your batteries and pays for itself in the long run. I have this model but there are many other manufactures that have similar on-board chargers that should also maintain all your batteries making life much simpler after a long day on the water. http://promariner.com/products/waterproof-on-board-marine-battery-chargers/prosport-series/
  9. Maybe I'm reading this incorrectly but you're quoted above saying "that will use any charger". So I mentioned that a non-smart charger may not get you 8-9 years from a battery. Read it again, maybe I didn't type it very clear to understand.......just doing the best of what I can with what little I have....
  10. Not sure if you will get that many years out of any charger that's why I recommended a on-board charger because they are smart chargers. However, some non on-board chargers very well may be smart chargers as well. Double check on that but then the charger should be hooked up and on charge at all times the battery is not being used. A on-board charger makes this so much easier because you only have to plug the charger in.
  11. Geddie up cowboy.......ya hit the nail on da head.
  12. Here's what I found that's in Seafoam......notice the dreaded alcohol that is now in gasoline and water. 50% light hydrocarbon oil (pale oil); 30% petroleum naphtha; 10% isopropyl alcohol; 10% water.
  13. Since you already have the pressure treated wood I would just isolated the contact points using some FREE material you probably already have laying around your house, plastic.......old milk containers or other plastic type bottles, containers placed between the wood and support brackets will out last the boat. I'm guessing you don't store this boat inside and that's why the floor rotted. Have you taken a closer look at the transom as that is usually the next thing to go on a aluminum boat that is stored outside. This new floor will easily outlast that transom and by then you might be in the market for a NEW fishing machine.
  14. Pros and cons when it comes to AGM batteries. IMHO I believe they are way over priced but if you don't mind being raked over the coals, go for it. It your money and if you think it's best for your purpose that is all that counts. In my experience a good marine starting battery that is well maintained from day one should last you at least as long as your AGM. When I say well maintained, I mean having a on-board charger hooked up to that battery and all boat batteries whenever the boat is not out fishing. My last marine dual purpose starting battery (wet cell) was replaced at 9 years old because it was 9 years old and I didn't want to push it on the Great Lakes. If I didn't fish the Great Lakes, who knows it might be still in my boat. If you don't already have a on-board charger you should consider one and if you purchase a wet cell marine battery it will be free with the saving of not purchasing a AGM battery. Now got to it and catch a fish
  15. And it's only 10X as much as expensive gasoline that everyone complains about. Anyone here know what Seafoam is made from ? ? ?
  16. Then, your no Johnny Fever..........LOL
  17. And to think when it first came out radio stations played a shorted version of it because they thought it was too long and no one would listen to it from start to end. It's definitely one song that has endured the test of time as kids today love it as much as the kids of the 70's not to mention a lot of old farts that still listen to it every time it's on the old am car radio.
  18. If you're not having any problems why waist your money on Seafoam. Don't fix what's not broken.
  19. So if your PC crashes you have nothing ? ? ? Also you can not access your email if you don't have "your" computer with you ? ? ?
  20. Found it better to be off the grid ever since they declared me dead......don't pay taxes anymore and don't file for a refund anymore. Life is much simpler that way......LOL
  21. Switched from Hotmail to Gmail many years ago.....WHY, one day all my emails that I saved were GONE.....EVERYTHING Gone........screw Hotmail. And if you deleted something from Hotmail there was no recovery, at least back then. Spam filter IMHO is excellent with Gmail. I rarely get a Spam in my inbox but if you check the Spam file it loaded. And I love the calendar it has that emails me every morning with events, appointments, etc for that day. Also love Google search it has that I can just speak what I want instead of typing it.
  22. Wearing orange would of definitely made a difference, however bow hunters need to wear camo to get close enough for a quality shot. The problem in this case is someone else hunting big game with a firearm during the bow season. In every area I have ever hunted this is NOT allowed for the safety of the bow hunter. As someone else already mentioned you MUST ID your target at all times before pulling that trigger. So again the shooter is liable here. Now if Jonathan was allowed by Six Nation law to hunt as he did and didn't break any laws whatsoever, then his girl friend should be suing Six Nation for irresponsible laws/codes that led to the death of Kosid and Jonathan for whatever her lawyer can get. BTW hunting as proven by stats is much safer then fishing or even riding a bike.
  23. Being a Bills fan for way too long I thought I knew most about the Bills but of course one can always learn more. Do you know what the Buffalo team name was that the Ti-Cats played. I do know the Buffalo Bills as we know today were merged from the old AFL that started playing in 1960 and continued as such when the AFL and the NFL merged in 1970.
  24. And a small pet mule to move it around.
  25. Yes, you have me by 3 full years.........but since I'm a former charter capt and have fished 100 - 120 days a year back then, I think I'm qualified on the subject. Moving from one lake to another is not a good answer once you spent the time to get to said lake and then going to another lake doesn't guarantee that lake wouldn't have a derby in it or fish being sought after will be on the hot bite like the lake I really wanted to fish. I'm just posting my opinion............ which is what I thought we are suppose to do here....
