  1. Got it! Thank you. I paid $10 to Launch and park today which is reasonable imo. $25.00 is pretty crazy.
  2. Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians! There's a lot of noise made on a few political threads here (and I concede that I make a disproportionate amount of the noise!), but those are few and far between. What I mostly see here is a bunch of people united by our passion for fishing and our love for this land. I'm thankful to be a Canadian today. This is a special country. Have a great day everyone. Dutch
  3. Great report - and AWESOME fish for a rookie!
  4. As far as I know, It is illegal to use artificial light to ATTRACT fish. IMO if you're shining a flashlight in the water BRIEFLY to check the depth or the action on your lure, then you're not using it to ATTRACT fish.
  5. Awesome, thanks Tom. I'll look into that one further.
  6. Looks like I'm headed to either Lower Buck or Stoney Saturday. I've fished Lower Buck before, but not Stoney. I've read all about the rocks, so I'll be trying to maximize the time on the electric motor for sure. Can anyone tell me if one launch is better than the rest, as far as being closer to the best fishing areas? No point having to drive farther than I need to and risk dinging the lower unit....
  7. Fantastic report, I really enjoyed reading it, thank you.
  8. Ain't that the truth! Mines more of a spending account than a saving account 0.o
  9. Could be an insurance scam. I don't know the guy from Adam, so I'm not saying it is. But something definitely seems off here and stranger things have happened.
  10. Minnow under a lighted float at night.
  11. You could always try Sunrise Cottages on Lower Buck www.sunriseresort.ca. Last time I rented there was under the old owner Cees. It was 96.00 tax and gas in for a 14 foot tinner. I'm not sure if it's gone up under the new owner.
  12. I absolutely love my Silverado as I mentioned before. Looks great, the small block v8 sounds amazing, it's fast, the ride is very smooth, good highway mileage (around 10L/100km on cruise and not towing), the interior looks great to me and Chevy MyLink is great for streaming my music and podcasts from my phone. I literally can't think of anything I don't like about it. Do I like it better than the others? Of course, that's why I bought it. I haven't owned a Ford, Dodge or Toyota, so I'm not going to put them down. Good luck with whatever your do choose.
  13. You're entitled to like what you like, but there are just as many Ford/Chevy forums as Toyota. You just haven't been looking. As a Chevy guy, I'm fond of http://www.silveradosierra.com
  14. Fantastic pictures! I made them into a desktop slideshow on my work computer to help me get through to the weekends - thank you.
  15. Evening shift for the win.
  16. The Chevy uses a lot more high strength steel than the ford and only weighs about 200 pounds more. I think the aluminum hype is a bit gimmicky.
  17. I have a 2015 Silverado LT and I love it. The small bock 5.3 has loads of power and torque, and it rides like a dream on the highway.
  18. That's a great idea, thanks! I'll do that next time for sure. One less thing to worry about.
  19. Thanks. I still can't believe it even now. I'm not expecting to see another like that anytime soon.
  20. It's a start we can't even make because asking for more stringent background checks is treasonous to some. I love this. If don't have ALL the ideas and ALL the solutions, that's somehow a failing because I've "only" put forth one idea. How many ideas have the "pro gun people who don't want more massacres" put forth? When they put forth one, they'll have caught up to me. Ask me again then.
  21. I agree that the internet is a poor forum for consensus. I accept your apology and offer my own in return. It appears I inferred a meaning that you did not imply
  22. There will never come a day when the POTUS announces that the war on terror is over. Even if it were true, its too convenient to keep it around as a justification for any of the things they want to get us to accept.
  23. I do believe Americans are afraid of socialism. I have heard it from several of them, and it's why Sanders will never be President.
  24. This is the kind of post that contributes nothing to the discussion. You don't know what I imply, you only know what you infer. You've called my arguments cheap, my ideas stupid, and you've done so with a heap of sarcasm, all while proposing no solutions of your own. You're entitled to "hate" anything you want. That's really neither here nor there to me. What I'm saying is that doing nothing is the surest way to get more of the same. Do you have any argument to the contrary? What I'm hearing (not just on this board but elsewhere online) are excuses why we should do nothing. I'm hearing "not if it affects me". I'm hearing "I don't like your ideas so I will attack you as a traitor to the Constitution". You're obviously hearing something different. That you reference shootings in Canada is laughable. If you want to compare the incidence of mass shootings between Canada and the USA you are going to lose every time. We don't have these shootings at anywhere near the frequency they do, even when adjusted per capita. I also didn't see a proposed solution in your post so from where I sit you've brought nothing to the discussion but insults and sarcasm. If you feel I've misjudged you let me know. I'm always open for discussion. I'm just closed for lectures.
  25. All good points. I don't disagree with you, addressing a lack of mental health care funding would go a long way towards curbing these mass shootings. Probably further than gun control. But Americans are afraid of "socialism" so I don't see them doing anything about metal illness anytime soon. I happen to also think that more stringent background checks could augment mental health treatment as a part of a holistic solution. I'm not against a guy like Art having as many guns as he wants. I get that there are many many law abiding citizens who will never use their guns in anger. However, I refuse to believe we can plan to fly men to Mars, but we lack the collective intelligence to stop (or at least diminish) these mass shooting events. The fact that Republicans can't even have a conversation about curbing mass shootings without accusing everyone else of sedition should be a source of shame.
