  1. You head to bed knowing the next morning your heading out fishing and you can't sleep. Your too excited that maybe tomorrow will be that day. It happens to me especially when fishing in waters that could produce a huge musky or pike. That fish where when you first see it and you look in amazement. When you get your hands on it you say to yourself that's a fish that needs to mounted on my wall. Maybe I fantasize to much, but that's just me lol. Anyways I haven't crossed paths with that fish yet. A few weeks ago I caught my biggest musky which was a fat 44" maybe 25lbs, but it's not that fish. I always say that she's out there, but we haven't crossed paths. So guys what's the fish you've always wanted to land and will land someday.
  2. Very well said Old Ironmaker. I think we have all worked or known someone who wasn't able to enjoy there retirement years. I am lucky to have been introduced to fishing which brings me great enjoyment throughout the year, but can't say they same about a lot of guys I know where all they do is work, drink, play vids repeat.
  3. I must be doing something wrong. Never trolled out of those seven trips, and was mostly using 8 inch black and orange bucktail. Had probably 6 or 7 follows, but I don't know. Noticed tons of panfish early in the year dead on the surface so I was thinking cause of the bad winter they were still recovering.
  4. Went fishing for muskie on Upper Buckhorn seven times this year. Produce one muskie. Either theres no muskie or I suck. Not too sure, but landed three on Niagara in two trips in November.
  5. I'm years away, but I always thought to downsize my house. Get something small and have a chunk of cash to play around with, but that idea I think may pass as I get older.
  6. I know I'm very new here, but I think it would be pretty cool to have a OFC sticker so I can put it on my car. It would be cool to drive along and see a fellow member cruising to his favourite fishing spot. Just an idea.
  7. Watching Alfredson's retirement news conference right now and my biggest memory of him playing my leafs is when the sens had Heatley, Spezza, and Alfie on there first line and they would beat up the leafs by 6 or 7 goals every game.
  8. The only person happier then myself when I bought my house was my dad. He was probably saying to himself "Out you go and don't come back". lol
  9. It's every fisherman's worst nightmare. They hook that big one and it takes off. You keep your eyes on the rod with amazement and then you look down and see that your line is almost all gone. You start panicking and try tightening your drag and then all of a sudden it's gone forever. Happened to me at Nipissing when I was young, but I probably had the drag set to loose. I'm sure you guys have got some stories.
  10. That's true. Junk mail will last forever lol.
  11. Live at home with your parents and save as much as you can. Your twenties should not be about partying, but for saving. Don't get credit card debt. Almost 19% interest would kill anybody.
  12. Was thinking of getting one when I bought my house last year, but with Canada Post cutting down on residential delivery I would sell it while you can still get cash for it.
  13. I think its time for Kessel to put 40 goals in one season. Cant believe he hasn't done it yet.
  14. Good buy if your going with a bunch a people a few times a year. I have a four man tent and trust me it sucks setting it up every time I go out and I go out at least 10 times a season. I want an least a two man tent cause it a huge production setting it up. You better have a least ten guys helping you if you buy that one if there's a strong wind that day. Anyways its a smart financial move buying that instead of renting a hut.
  15. Latex gloves is a good idea. Make sure they are powder free so they stick to your skin better.
  16. Hope so. We can't have Kessel go too many games without a goal or Carlyle will take his vids away lol.
  17. Nice variety. Good year for you.
  18. Been using a little buddy heater for a few years in my four man tent. Works great no problems
  19. Agree. I will just be sitting on the beach looking at all the nice scenery that's walks by.
  20. Not too sure about accommodations, but if they want constant fish after fish action send them to Cooks Bay in Lake Simcoe. They have hut rentals there for about $50 a person. I can land 100 perch in one day, but too bad they are all around 4 or 5 inches long.
