  1. ya I do it every year - some peole should just NOT be allowed to go tackle shopping for someone else this year bought both of "my" gifts in Nov & have used them early 8'6 St Croix Wild River spinning rod - already got some trout on it Garmin Extex Lengend Cx - has a coupla waypoints on it already
  2. welcome! yes there is actually is a place where your allowed 2 rods per angler in regular season (not ice fishing season
  3. this weather is Bullspit - sorry but I am winter guy (skiing, hockey, icefishing....) - about to pull the plug on a booked ice bungalow trip for early Jan however I am glad ive got good year round open water opportunities nearby & my boat is not "winterized"
  4. All the best boss Happy birthday to you & Merry Christmas to the Quesnel household
  5. thanks Dan for sharing that - i just love those red halos around the blue spots such special fish they are
  6. I own both models Darcy & am very happy with both x67c - is more versatile- has both graph & flasher options, they also make a GPS option model too - the flasher also has the bottom zoom feature which the fl-8 dosent - also can be used on the boat - i use mine on my bow mount - slight downside is that it can slow a little in extreme cold fl-8 easy/simple to use & wont "slow down" on you whatever your choice, they are both fine units
  7. Safe ice on Nippissing for Jan 5 - dont think he can fit that in the bag though
  8. Ed Zachary Terry!

  10. well with Fishing World 30 minutes from me, Bass Pro 65 minutes & and a Gander mountain 25 minutes from me in NY, I am most interested in seeing a Cabelas built somewheres along this zone
  11. Big fan of icefishing here too. Its all about the experience for sure. Cant put it into words, I just love it.
  12. Package of baits arrived today - thanks Jamie! Gonna be a longggg wait till i can use'm though. I laughed when i took the packaging off & saw they were in a donut box! yer a funny guy, thanks again.
  13. right on Raf!
  14. thanks for sharing Dave you were in good company with those too, they are logging some serious hours on that body of water sure has been some outstanding weather there to get out in
  15. definetly multi species though I am really starting to enjoy open water trolling for salmon, trout & walleye, i still find time for all the others. Its nearly impossible to be a year round angler with just one species in mind, though it does make things a little more pricey to outfit yerself to be able to do so I also enjoy travelling around to new spots/places, so being a multi-species guy I am never disapointed with what species are available in a given spot.
  16. Barely began my muskie season before it ended - fished muskie a total of 3 times only one landed fell short of 40" the majority of my season this year was spent on salmon & 'eyes - had a couple fall muskie trips planned, but bad weather made me fall back on plans b & c only about half a year till muskie opens
  17. no reason why you couldnt fish from a boat - no different then soem of the boats that fish the open waters of Quinte duuring the winter - of course you are only allowed one/angler in the bat
  18. in the same boat as you but with a different operator - fingers & toes crossed it gets cold FAST!
  19. ok fine Pete, next time we're trolling & we're changing baits, you reel 'em in & pick up the "drowning presents" ok?
  20. Zander? is'nt that one of them European super walleyes? err... i mean pickerals?
  21. sure can they do @ Quinte, why not the Bog? excpet your back to one rod a person geez I am hoping Nipp has a foot of ice come early Jan, let alongeScugog
  22. No problem Jamie - little less then 1/2 a year till i can toss 'em baits anywayz thanks again DSI - Dont Say It
