  3. universal sonar definetly the way to go - the design of my Powerdrive & the transducer wire is a bit of pain right now, but i put up with it
  4. have a great day there Norm! its too bad ya cant throw a cast off your own dock on your bday
  5. for my tiller boat Eagle fishmark 320 on the stern & the sonar is at my rear electronics console centre - wired to my cranking battery on the bow I have an Eagle Cuda with a Lowrance bowmount trandsducer & I have this unity wired nicely on its own to the same 12v gel-cell batery that I use for my Vexilar. The Cuda is a cheapy, but it'll serve my current needs for now. I have run both units at the same time this way & never had interferenece issues. I am no expert, but I believe it is when two of the same KHZ transducers are used at once then interference is more likely to occur. Example : a bunch of guys icefishing closer together all using 200KHZ Vexilar transducers. But now many of those units have rejection features. (Someone correct me if I am wrong please) In the Future i'll be moving the 320 up front & have a decent Lowrance GPS combo at the back.

  16. Sorry for NF post Our current house in which moved into last fall has a natural gas line hook-up on or patio for the BBQ. I am just curious as to how much does it normally cost to get the "adapter" & is there much to doing it yourself? Any "cons" to this at all? I like the idea of never having a tank go empty on ya in the middle of cooking for guests & such. Thanks in advance for opinions/suggestions. Much appreciated.
  17. will "Fish Guts" be performing?
  18. nice one rick i'll save that & watch it later

  20. and the Zander
  21. after all the bantering about WHERE the next potential muskie would be caught, thought it would be fun to see what SPECIES would be next in line to fall. Now I am talking freshwater species. Or what species do you think WONT ever get broken. So what do you think? How about a 40lb Great lakes browntrout? I think a giant laketrout from NWT could possibly surface again. I think its currently at 70lbs +/- ?? I think that 97lb Chinook salmon is pretty safe.
  22. there is a couple spots on that page whre you can click to read the March '07 newsletter attachment - that is where it can be found
  23. I too agree that an out-of-season record sized Muskie will appear before one that is in season
  24. When I mentioned Lake Ontario as a possibility, the lack of muskie fishing pressure was one of the reasons I considered it. Another was the wide variety of forage. I was also kinda thinking along the Bay of Quinte as a possible spot. the only way it will come from lake O though will be another O'brien scenario - next to nobody targets them there
  25. Dan - i currently have the Garmin E-trex Legend Cx very nice unit, lots of memory, but small screen - its uits me very fine for now for what i need it for I think two of the better hand-held units out there right now for mapping are the Garmin Map 76cx (?) or Lowrance's new one ( i foget the model) both seem very comparablem, large screens, ect.... before you make a purchase take into account the available map software/chips & see what would suit you best, - though i guess nearly all your fishing is within one/two regions, that would be a little easier for you as opposed to us southern ontario folks who's fishing trips may take them to different " map regions".
