Marner was a rookie and Babcock wasn’t happy with how he was playing. He also wasn’t happy with how Naz or Bozak we’re playing. He asked marner to list the guys on how hard they worked and then told everyone what marner said without his permission. It rattled marner and made him upset. mike commodore is butthurt still cause babcock called him fat and useless and ended his career. Sheldon Keefe was also coached by an absolute maniac, the problem with david frost is that he was also a total weirdo and sexually abused the kids as well. The guy psychologically brainwashed those kids into being ruthless soldiers for him. And they won and won and won. It’s really messed up because he did it to kids knowing he could take advantage of them and monetarily gain from them making the nhl and representing them as their agent. That’s what’s horrible about that story. my point is that unless you have played in the NHL, you have no friggin clue what it takes/how you need to coach in order to get people to do stuff that seems inconceivable. Psychologically breaking people down and then building them up is part of how you do it. Kadri came out two days ago and said he likes Babcock and to be honest he probably owes some of the success in his career to him. i talked to my dad about this. I asked him why in the hell did you push forward and harder when your command were so brutal to you while you were training in the military, and his reply was that it simply was because you knew that they were pushing you to your limits for the sake of making you feel like you were capable of doing anything. You wanted to prove them wrong. They psychologically and physically toughened them until they were hard as nails and ready to fight through anything. theres no crying to the HR department, that’s what you get paid for. You really think players that play for Bill bellichic are big fans of his personality? They like winning, that’s what makes it worth it in the end. I get it, times have changed and players need to be patted on the back, but hockey doesn’t need to turn into the bloody NBA where the stars are a bunch pre-madonas that cry about their coaches and teammates while flopping and diving all over the court. look at Lebron, the guy runs the entire organization, gets coaches fired, talks crap about his teammates, pulls out the race card any time someone questions him. It’s a joke.

i dont know...cry me a river I think of it like this...who are widely recognized as the most lethal well trained employees in the world? Navy Seals/special forces. Look at their training. Its not a walk in the park and they arent paid 11 million dollars a year either. Its widely known that scotty bowmans players didnt like him either, he was a total hard ass. His players like winning though. This screams "my feelings are hurt, im offended" If im going to war, my sargeant doesnt need to be my best cuddle buddy, he needs to get me through the war and to finish the job. I get it, theres some seriously questionable stuff babcok did like sitting spezza, this ones a bit weird, but at the same time translates "accountability to your teammates" he may have gone about it the wrong way, but the way hockey twitter etc is blowing up right now with people saying "OH GOD HOW DARE BABCOCK BE A HARDASS AND MEAN TO HIS ROOKIES WHEN THEY ARE PLAYING LIKE POOP" give me a break.

I’m waking up my old tinner on Friday, trick is I gotta get that old 88 suzuki that hasn’t run in two years to fire up. Probably going to spend Friday cleaning the carb and plugs and wiring the boats trolling motor up for one last crack at some giant walleye. Mother nature almost had us busting out the short rods, but if she wants to throw a curve ball I plan on swinging at it. At minimum we may get one last meal of pickerel tacos out of it!

lol not a chance

Serious question..../my opinion Mike Babcok is quiet literally the perfect Coaches Corner Replacement. Oldschool guy, quirky, a personality, while also not being completely tone deaf.
-
Leafs just fired babs, keefe the new coach according to leafs PR. Poor guy is inheriting a tire fire.

Rich... Beware of slugs that hide in sheeps clothing. Matt comes out with his russian troll burner account and talks a whole pile of junk and tells us all to "suck it" he immediately gets nailed by the admins and comes back with a nice wholesome reply. GTFOH

dont believe the hype the sens are hot at the moment and their record is still abysmal. All its doing is guaranteeing that they dont get the first overall pick again. I love the Blue and White Disease talk coming from a sens fan...id rather be diseased with the chance for a cure then just outright dead like that franchise. I dont think they make it through the next decade as an organization.

hmmm may have to give the lake floor around the boat house a rake with a stringer this weekend. this small warm stretch may eat up the new ice that we have. I Lost a rod (no reel thank god) at some point this fall, not sure if it fell off of the boathouse, or overboard at some point Dont feel too bad about those cold stretches bunk, I pushed through the October early november gails, That 100kmh wind storm, ya i was out fishing musky in it lol cranked blades so hard my reel exploded, nearly went hungry one saturday after spending hours chasing a bite leaving almost not enough time to catch dinner (got lucky marked a walleye and it was a perfect outside of the slot eater) All to just put the boat away without sliming it! November 9th the lower end oil was changed and the batteries pulled out of the rig the navigloo went up and 10 hours later she was buried in a snow squall warnings snow. I guess my big fall g bay musky dreams will have to wait until next year. Ill have to get to the other reports, my boss needs me to work, go figure!

Funny I was at a wedding in the hammer this weekend and the eskis were staying at my hotel. some big boys hanging around the lobby and elevators holy crepe
-
went glass and not sure Ill ever go back. Ride quality is just so much better. I get it that guys like Deep v's when theres 6 feet of chop, or you specifically are down rigging. but on the average windy day or when its calm teh glass just rides so much better than aluminum

As far as I was aware, that shell 91 is all produced at the same refinery which is distinctively ethanol free. not sure about small locations but I know our shell in pointe au baril has e free 91
-
unfortunately the 91's that arent (esso, petro) dont tell you the E grade anymore. Safe bet is shell and canadian tire, because they come from the same refinery.

Boat trim hydraulics failing in the cold
AKRISONER replied to AKRISONER's topic in General Discussion
Looks like I’ve got some work to do come spring! Since I’m the kinda person to do things right the first time I will probably replace everything that I possibly can within reason. As long as replacing those seals is as simple as opening the ram caps and pulling the old seals and simply putting in the new ones, then that’s exactly what I am going to do. I’m going to try and look to see if there are any YouTube videos of people filling their hydraulic fluid as well just to make sure I don’t screw anything up. One thing I did do was turn the relief valve (at least that’s what I thought it was) in order to get the motor up and down to finish winterizing. One thing I noticed is that it seemed like the valve itself was either stripped or just continued to turn? I should get a photo of it to show you guys what i am talking about. When I turned it it made an air pressure relief noise and allowed me to move the motor. I then noticed that I could hear it leaking still so I turned it a bit more and it seemed to seal up. I’m not exactly sure what’s going on there aside from the fact that maybe the cap is sitting on a gasket and just spinning kind of like a bottle cap. -
Funny the folks most fired up about it had no problem voting for the guy that did

lets not get the hockey thread locked.

Don Cherry has been let go. Grew up watching Don and never missed a coaches corner growing up but was honestly surprised the last few years that they still had him around. One of those things where they should have called it quits before things got worse. He was largely incoherent and very often his points were not delivered as sharply as back in the day. A canadian legend regardless. Even more sad that it all ended over something related to rememberance day.

gotta have a better than .860 save percentage to stay in the NHL Yes the leafs left him out to dry, but hutch wasnt good enough on enough goals this year that the leafs are going to try something else. I suspect that this times perfectly with the return of zach hyman. The leafs 100% need to move a few pieces in order to be cap compliant while Hyman is playing. What that means to me is that Dubas is shopping the backup goaltender market very very hard at the moment.

canadian tire premium and Shell Premium are both ethanol free. I run nothing but shell v power in my outboard and snowmobiles now.
