If you knowingly tow something over capacity, you are in for a heap of trouble if something should happen...I wonder if insurance would even cover you? Tough call when you're so close to the launch, but, not a tough call when you think of the possible repercussions. Perhaps someone at the launch facility would be happy to do it for you in exchange for....a few bucks? A few fillets? A few 6-packs? Just thinkin' out loud..
While you're at it, call ABC, NBC, CBS, CBC, Global, CTV, to complain to them about all the re-runs, lame reality shows and general filler that they run through the summer.
Pull the lake up on Google Maps and look at the satellite shot of it...the deep sections become very apparent...that and Virtual Maps SDK...shows a good amount of structure, which is where you'll want to be. I've only ice fished it a couple times...small-ish pike...crappie are supposed to be in there, but not in great numbers I've heard...and you should run into some OK bass.
Nicely done man...but the one I caught yesterday was FAR more meaningful, on a personal level I can't get over the insane amount of walleye you guys have up there...sweeeeet!!!!
Takes a bit of getting used to, but you'll be able to see it against the water in a bit....maybe as it fades and becomes less "red". More importantly, did you catch anything?!?!
I don't understand why our kids shouldn't sing it...but the people bickering back and forth on that CBC board sure aren't going to advance the issue in one direction or another. Makes our "hot posts" seem lame by comparison...please don't bring the hatred here...
When I went there a couple years ago, it was berkely trout bait under a float, on the far side of the weedbeds...little orange and red marshmallow lookin' things
If there's easy access, it seems there's always going to be people taking as much as they can...looks like another good outing for you anyway -- Spike is such a goof!
Coolest thing I ever snagged was an anchor. The power pro hauled it up...and when my buddy saw it, recognized it as the one he had lost 10 years prior...it dug into the mud so badly that he couldn't pull it up for fear of tipping the canoe he was in, and had to cut the rope! Good ol' power pro
I'm still not sure what we're looking at in the pic though...looks like weeds on your lure from here.
Awesome stats breakdown...persistence and confidence obviously paid off! Pretty slick looking musky...very green. And talk about girth...their heads look too small for their bodies Thanks for the great report!
Couldn't speak specifically to a 1448 (I assume that's a 14 footer?) but on Kijiji and various marine sites I've been seeing stuff under $1500. try BPS?
