  4. If you're worried about losing lures to snags, make a $15 investment and spool your reel up with some PowerPro. The diameter of what you're using now should give you about 25 or 30 lb test...so if you happen to snag, you can usually rip the lure free. If it's REALLY stuck, you just wrap the line around something sturdy, like a stick, or the handle of a net, and pull steadily. The line will last a looong time, and when it looks like it's time to change, you can take it all off, and put it on the spool backwards...using the untouched stuff that's been buried at the bottom. As for lures, well, the sky's the limit...but definitely get yourself a white spinnerbait...one hook to worry about, can be fished shallow or deep, and even skimmed over top of weeds without getting caught up TOO much. As for where to fish...look for the "differences" in your spots. If the whole area is weedy, look for the log, or rock, or even just the hole in the weeds. Where the depth changes. Where the water goes from calm to choppy. Where water is flowing in, ie. from a creek. 1 FOR 5! 1 FOR 5! we're pullin' for ya
  5. beautiful bass there...way to go!!! And by the pics, they look MASSIVE Keep 'em coming!

  9. Fantastic trip and report, Solo....really enjoyable read. MUCH better than those trout posts....all the shiny chrome hurts my eyes
  10. Great replies, guys...thanks a lot. It'll definitely give us some options...and maybe show my pal that he can actually get some fishing done in his own backyard instead of sitting around moping that he never goes up north anymore
  11. Hey all...I might be headed down to Guelph to see my best friend and long time fishing buddy who is a seriously deprived fisherman!! Since he moved to Guelph, we hardly see each other any more, and he doesn't seem to get out fishing much. So if I go down and see him...where might be some spots we can head with the tackle box and rods for a few hours of shore fishing? Is the Dam in Cambridge any good? Guelph Lake? Just not sure about where to go down there...ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  22. I say, if you're talking to Fishmaster, you should have no trouble. I'm guessing worm harnesses and bottom bouncers are the ticket....
  23. That's all well and good, but my Mercer's Magic outproduces my daredevil....so are the daredevil people making their living by lying to people? Of course you hit a nerve...you pretty much called a well liked and respected member of the community a liar. Just because YOU can't catch fish with a particular lure. Take your own advice and don't get your knickers in a knot if someone catches fish on a lure and you don't But you get tons of points for keeping it civil Welcome aboard, b.o.
  24. Trolling with a Pink Lady has worked very well for me in the summer for lakers...a thermometer is a really useful tool as well...finding the temperature they like is a great way to find the fish
  25. Not me...but I had a great trip there years ago..nice place. Middle of summer and the wife (now ex) was trolling a regular old shad rap...got smashed by an 8 lb laker...nearly took the rod with it before it got landed...quite the surprise. Have fun!
