  1. That's pretty wild! Buddy and I caught an incidental a few years ago on a fairly hot day in late June. Released it and thought it was fine....saw it pop up a few yards away. Was swimming properly, but right on the surface....we puttered over but it wouldn't let us get close. Lots of boat traffic so we just stayed close until it finally bolted after about 10 minutes. After that I've always held on a little tighter to the tail until they show me they can really take off.
  2. Sort of in the same vein as Simon's offer....I was going to suggest that if you ever need a shopping list completed at JB's, Lew, I'd be happy to pick it up and deliver it....to your boat
  3. I did really well with a green taildancer...same depth as Sinclair mentioned. Anywhere where there was enough space between weeds, it would get smashed. When the weeds got too thick, pick up the other rod and start rippin the jig through....weeds clear up...switch back to the crank. Good luck, and make sure to post a report for all us pic-hungry lurkers
  4. I've only been happy with ymy visits so far....but I AM surprised to hear of that much of a price difference. So far they have been really sharp on prices....mind you...I don't go lookin' at the real high end stuff I will say that over the last couple years I've really seen the value of competition. I love my small stores, like JB's, Angling Specialties, and if you consider them small, LeBaron. Always find good deals, and so far, the only one that's been getting less of my money is BPS.
  5. Ben Beattie and Jay Hamilton are both members here.....other names that come to mind are Gord Pyzer and Jeff Gustaffson(not sure if they still guide tho). The other name that pops to mind when thinking "guide + Northern Ontario" is Tyler Dunn, TDunn on the board....but I think he's more of a SSM boy....I could be wrong.
  6. Okay AhLong....sounds like you're getting quite the reputation...and from the looks of your collection and vids, I'd say it's well deserved Do you touch spinning reels, or strictly baitcasters?
  7. Fantastic report....love the retired lure and that 25"er looks like a brute...can't wait to see the 31. Congrats on a great trip, and thanks for the write-up
  8. Absolutely fantastic.....no other way to live, I think
  9. Those are some great pictures.....thanks for sharing
  10. I'll tell you what...not a lot of people know about these, but they are pretty much the only one you should consider. They're metal, and come in a few different styles, and are called *looks up....reads other responses* NEVER MIND
  11. Great bass...gotta love the game of cat and mouse...even better when you end up sinking the hooks in
  12. Very nice surprise there! I remember reading one of the guys post on here that they loosen the drag (and of course leave the clicker on) so that you are hearing about one click every 5 seconds. If the clicking speeds up at all, reel in the walleye. So weird that they can hit a moving lure that gently
  13. Some great smallie action.....whereabouts are you fishing? (Not looking for the lake name)
  14. Send a PM to CourtR -- he is on their prostaff, and I believe he gets his stuff shipped to a US address.
  15. What a tank!!! Got my biggest smallie last season on an early morning buzzbait....just an inch shy of that beast
  16. Ummm....they have Pete Bowman. Don't they?!?! Or is there a different short hyper guy who catches fish like crazy?
  17. Nice...that'll be the closest one to me yet
  18. I heard, from a source which may or may not be reliable, that neither of the candidates (John Blanchard and Paul Castellano) actually WANTED to go on as a full time member of the show.
  19. Got a few goosebumps there....great pics!
  20. He *claims* that his wife packed the tongs.... Best airdrop ever! That bunny didn't last long
  21. Beautiful!!!
  22. Because the point wouldn't have been proved nearly as effectively if you threw them in a couple feet of water This reminds me....when will you be posting your accident-prone summer report?
  23. That's awesome!! Nothing like the reward of some lunkers for busting your butt to get into those back lakes
  24. Great pics!!!!! Easier to see them here rather than clicking on the photobucket link in each twitter post
