So, when you guys go to this lake....do you take Chad's truck? I just want to make sure I'm following the right vehicle Great job!
-
Beautiful fish...congrats!
-
Great pics, great fish, great report! Gorgeous fish....too bad there are no pics of these hot lures
-
Absolutely nothing wrong with that, IMO...its the guys that want to haggle with a "firm" price. At least you just skip over it when you see firm....nothin wrong with that at all
-
Definitely 2 kinds of buyers/sellers...the kind that expect the price to move, and the kind that accept the price and move. Firm means nothing to the first kind, and firm means firm to the other.

what happens to the plastic left in the water?
johnnyb replied to whitbyboatguy's topic in General Discussion
I wonder if the water has to be a certain temperature for the baits to release any of their potential holocaust-inducing contents? Do they come out while the plastic is still in a firm state, or, is it basically a waterproof capsule of sorts that won't break down until it is melting? Love the steelhead video btw! -
Welcome aboard, and keep in mind that lakers close Sep. 30. Lots of good advice in that episode of fishn Canada...basically look for classic smallie structure and pound the bottom. Great time of the year for big smallies...go get'em! The guy that guided on the show, by the way, runs the bait shop in Glen Orchard....at 118/169

Methinks I've seen that background many times over in your reports this time of year Nice work, once again

How did you do this past spring and summer?
johnnyb replied to ccmtcanada's topic in General Discussion
Hmmm....no true pb's for me this year...but managed to get out a fair bit. Pretty much every weekend, which sounds like a lot, but only a few hours a day here and there. It wasn't as much as back in the day when I was a teenager with no job and all summer to fish....but..considering I'm married with 2 kids...I did allright I did however manage to rekindle my love of bass fishing and learn a few new techniques, after spending the last couple seasons trolling for lakers. Actually.....maybe there was a pb....got a 26" laker...not my biggest ever, but my biggest trolling so far. Also fished my first tournament...it was just for fun with a few guys...but there were real bassboats involved, and competing against other fishermen was awesome...changed the way I worked the water for the rest of the year. Took a car-camping trip to Temagami that was a bit of a letdown fishing-wise, although I watched my cousin absolutely shatter his pb pike with a nice wide 36"er...that was awesome. Will get out a handful of more times up in Muskoka/Minden, plus one killer trip for stocked, year-round brookies in October...that has potential to be the highlight of the year...so I'm totally fine to let summer hurry up and end! -
WooooHOOOO! Great shot of that tank....nice way to kick things off

You'd have to portage it in a few spots (3...maybe 4). Depends on how heavy the boat and motor are....IMHO it would be too much work if you were only going to go in for the day. Better to work the river and spend more time fishing.
-
Ohhhh...ok....I was thinking that you knew you were going to be charged for using his boat, and I couldn't figure out why you were bothered by getting a half-day charge. Obviously, that should have been included in the price for flying you in . I think it's time for a coffee. That is pretty lame indeed.

Oh that reminds me...if anyone is on the river between Little and Big Missisnaibi lake....my card is in there somewhere....but it's expired now so you don't have to call me if you find it
-
Absolutely thrilling! Great action, great report...thanks for sharing And maybe that tiger is part barracuda! WOW
-
You got the self timer dialed in all right...and the walleyes REALLY dialed in good!
-
I only know of their spot on Smoky Lake...I hear of people catching more smallmouth in there than anything....heading down the lake into Noganosh offers some good pike and bass action through the narrows and out into the main lake. If you are on the actual river though....I don't know. All I ever caught there have been pike, bass and a bowfin Did the plane even land?
-
Not only do you catch gorgeous fish all the time, any time you want, in one of the most beautiful corners of the world....but now you FORGET when you do?!?!?! Well done sir!
-
Those are some serious perch...well done!
-
Aikmans is in Mississauga....has been trusted with many reels for tune-ups and repairs. Brought my Coriolis back from the dead
-
Hmmmm....there ya go
-
sharpen your hooks....use trailer/stinger hooks....sharpen them too
-
Really glad you put this up....I'm keeping my eye on the nano-fil....so far really not having TOO much grief with suffix/powerpro on my spinning reels (although I find powerpro cast further...hands down...) but am interested in checking it out. Less water absorption has got me thinking icefishing!

Talking about the colour of them, I've noticed subtle differences among the same models. I was looking for the perch pattern with a shallow lip the other day....LeBaron had two rows of them hanging side by side. Both painted, not "chrome". One set of boxes had a sticker on them saying diving depth was 1-2 feet. The other set was obviously the same diving lip, and I confirmed by reading the package, that they dive 1-2 feet.....depsite the boxes having no sticker. One set had far more green in the paint, and a more prounounced bright spot near the mouth, while the other set was more subdued. I've been doing really well with green on the lake I had in mind while shopping for these....so I naturally grabbed the "greener" of the two. Also noticed that same thing with some discounted rapalas (just can't go to LeBaron and buy ONE lure )....same models, same size and colour, but more detail on one vs another.
