  1. Well...I think I've seen ALL of those pics spread throughout your many reports....definitely been a good year for you man...nicely done!
  2. Fantastic read...beautiful pics...just the sort of thing I needed
  3. keep googling....they're not that hard to find
  4. Nice work, as usual, Mike....more wordy than the reports I'm used to from you....and I enjoyed the read. I'm still looking forward to hooking up with you and Weedline one of these days...thanks for the great pics and report!
  5. Very cool!
  6. From what you wrote, Scotty, it doesn't sound like they were necessarily being dicks. I would most certainly start by pointing the sign out to them...let them know it's clearly posted. If they don't throw fish back, you don't need to inform them that you're calling TIPS....just call. Being a dick to them is just situation-dependent, IMHO. Sometimes you need to, sometimes you don't. Calling TIPS is a no-brainer though....always make the call
  7. Not if it catches me a fish! But if that happens.... it's not the last cast
  8. I definitely like Terry's version better....but you guys did better than many of the boats out there, I'm sure. Good job on the nice 'eye...the pike-erel wasn't bad either
  9. Yeap...woulda been great to meet you...I will take solace in knowing you were out in the 2-lines per person zone....we decided to stay closer.
  10. Finally got a chance to read this....and I have to say I don't think I've read about anyone doing as well on BOQ as you did on those couple of trips. WOW. Makes me wish I had read this before the weekend to fire you a PM and pick your brain about what worked so well for you out there...as I got beat up pretty bad on Saturday. It is about more than the catching though, you're right about that. Your pics and reports always bring a smile because you cherish your time out there, and your appreciation shows through.
  11. Beautiful stuff there....and drive-to! Great report and definitely getting added to the list. All those brookie pics have got me a bit lightheaded actually...
  12. Good stuff on getting back in one dry piece....and you sure did start out on the right foot with the fish....encouraging as I will be puttering around that stretch of water tomorrow :D
  13. Oliver, Blue Fox is a lure company....the lure you have is likely a spinner...called a [blue Fox] Vibrax. Size 5 is a solid choice for pike, and hungry smallmouth won't turn it down either. As others have mentioned, large spoons are a great choice as well.
  14. I've eaten bowfin....and would eat another one....very firm flesh, was like eating pork.
  15. I know nothing about building stuff....but that's one nice speck
  16. Nice!!! I'll be out there this Saturday, rain, shine or whatever...hope I can do half as well
  17. That's all Shimano wants to do is Sellus rods. Man do they ever Sellus a lotta rods.
  18. 4 hooks on one line is the general rule....always check exceptions for where you're fishing. As for the spreader thing...I wasn't thinking of using it right on bottom...but just dangling a few jigs/swimbaits off it....let it hang at various depths and see what the lakers make of it
  19. Hmmm....kinda makes me think icefishing....
  20. Wow that is a lot of work and it paid off with some great action..congrats!
  21. Based on the reports I've read, and the consequent stains on my pants...Pym and Eddie's are both good enough for me
  22. Welcome aboard, Oliver. Not sure what lures you've been trying, but maybe you need to try some different ones. Don't be afraid of the weeds....spinnerbaits will get through them without fouling up too much.
  23. Big surprise indeed!! The second pic really shows its brute-ishness...very cool *edit* Just saw the second page....deadbait....ROFL
  24. x2 for Temagami...lots of great options to drive to...chance for a trophy...one of the most beautiful places on Earth
