Boaters test too easy? Sort of Fishing
ecmilley replied to DundasSteelheader's topic in General Discussion
since you can obtain a cert with a dock side test when you rent a boat don't really see the validity of the whole card idea. -
I don't really say much but then again have been followed around in the boat several times when on the kawarthas, have had a crappie spot or so appear on a show but then I knew where it was most people wouldn't . secret spots ahh not really into sharing most areas I go to relax and not see people i do lots of leg work at times to find those small gems and those spots still produce when i show up, have been shown many "secret spots" those areas remain that way let the person who showed me tell others

Men arrested for dangerous driving on frozen Lake Scugog
ecmilley replied to I'mHooked's topic in General Discussion
laying the charge doesn't mean it's legal or they will get found guilty, but maybe they will consider there surrounding next time they do that. no speed limits on lake or i would be locked up for life -
nicely done, going after whities myself friday

Questions for people who live in rural areas NF
ecmilley replied to danbouck's topic in General Discussion
the only thing with well/lake cistern water is your responsible for the safety and security of the water system, i have had non-stop freezing issues with mine due to a shallow line that i hope is fixed now, when searching for a home with a well really look at the quality and more importantly the recovery rate of the well. heating hands down wood is the most econmical way to go though there most work, oil has better btu than propane or natural gas again the tssa is a pia with constantly changing regs on oil storage though also check your insurance company for it's demands on the tank. i heat with electric and wood pellets and have a small back up genny that'll run the fridge and stove when the power is down -
they look great TJ use lots of glow through the ice tipped with just a minnow, in softwater with a 3"grub is deadly on evning weedlines

I agree with wayne, start with the simple will it run then fix it

my 8 inch fin bore isn't cuttiing very good so i bought some new blades and it isn't any better, been told to shim it to get it to cut properly again, anyone know what angles to shoot for or is it a matter of trail and error? this would be reason #1 not to lend out an auger banging it on the ice to clear it is a no no

Started out Saturday afternoon, tried another spot for crappies on sturgeon lake, was set up on a submerged point that dropped from 2-15 ft various depths drilled lots of perch to be caught not a single crappie, so x another spot off on the map was using minnows small jigs and spoons. ice is 8 inches plus for the most part, Sunday found myself on a lake in the Kawartha highlands, trying for lake trout just walkedout and set up off a drop off underwater saddle area coming off an island, area seemed like heaven with some weed in 10-12 ft rocks boulder transition into 60 ft of water fished all depths with spreaders suspended and various spoons and jigs not a sniff all day, and talking to everyone else that day appeared to be in the same boat oh well got to wash some new tackle both days. thanks Tj spoons work pretty good

my house is a open concept of about 1300 sq ft with 2nd floor loft, i used to heat with a propane wall mount and it would consume up to $600 a month on cold months i switched to a pellet stove bit of a pia to fill and store pellets, but heats the house great (if a little unevenly) and is between 5 and 10 bux a day while it's on. now if your trying to heat multiple units in the same vicinity try looking into a pellet or corn boiler system frien of mine is heating his house on a boiler system and he uses half the pellets i do and the house is warm and cozy

Best Fishfinder for Drop Shot Fishing??
ecmilley replied to reelinrolly's topic in General Discussion
On my ranger I have a hds-8 with full down/side scan and when i am at the front of the boat i have a under 200 bones older hummingbird 140 colour unit when i am jigging or drop shotting that little bird has no problems showing my line going down to bottom in 30 ft it also has rts mode and flasher mode, sometimes I regret the over 3k i have in the lowrance as the bird marks just about as much -

Another Prop Question (Pitch Up or Down?)
ecmilley replied to RangerGuy's topic in General Discussion
whatis max rpm for the engine? i would guess its is 6000 don't go down in pitch that will increase rpm i would stay the same unless you can test both pitches out, going to a 18 will give you more top end but will sacrifice hole shot and easy planing -
awesome report thanks for sharing
