When I took my boat to Canada last year I had to register it at the border and that was it. I feel pretty sure that Canada would honor my Alabama boating license if I was ever checked.

Great report and pics Holdie!!! The next time you need new trailer bearings just buy the new pre assembled hubs kits, it's not much more and your hub caps will fit nicely! I gave $62 x 2 for 2 new hub assemblies last year and they we a snap to do!!! That Spike is a mess I tell you!!! ( a Redneck compliment), what is he?... a Jack Russel and ??? mix? Did some of those fish snag themselves?... or is it just the camera angle?... I don't know what the regs are in Sask, but here in 'Bama a legally caught fish is defined as "hooked anywhere in the head"... i'm not trying to start any trouble, but I know Pike are notorius for "T-boning" a lure and sometimes are hooked outside of the mouth.

I feel pretty certain that was taken out of a Virginia newspaper...

OMG Simon!!! Those 2 Wall-ice are "Radio-Active Brainwave Fish"!!!... they send out signals that mess up the focus on your camera! I've dealt with these kind of fish before!... the best thing you can do with those type of fish is to take them home and eat them (that's what i do with mine) before they breed and multiply!!! Great report... but day-yum it looks cold up there!!!... but it won't be long now before you get some warm weather, it's going to be 32*C here today and 33 tomorrow!

If folks would keep their limit of small fish and return the large ones to breed there would't be a problem... but that doesn't happen very often. I may keep 2% of the fish I catch in a year, and the big ones always go back!!! Eating the smaller fish is better for the fishery and better for you (less contaminants), I try to imbue this in everyone I fish with. I'm also teaching the fish not to bite a hook thru my C&R practices and it seems to be working better than I expected this year, because I can't catch any fish!!! Whenever I go Crappie fishin' with my buddy Lester, he tries to tell me Crapie are a lot harder to catch nowadays because the stocked Striped Bass are eating them all ... I tell him no, it's the 9 zillion other people like you that keep every Crappie they catch that're eating them.. he doesn't like that very much!

I don't do the landline thing anymore, I have a landline.... but it's hooked up to a fax machine (take that Mr. Scuzzbag telemarketer!!!). My wife and I both have cell phones with the direct connect walkie talkie, anyone that knows us either knows our cell phone #'s or our direct connect #'s ... a phone you can take anywhere with you!!!.. but it's not just a phone anymore, it's a camera, an MP3 player, a voice recorder, an internet connection...

Yup! Young boys are supposed to break things, it reminds them later in life not to do dumb stuff!!! I had casts on both arms and a leg (seperate incidents) when I was around his age, bike wrecks, tree climbing falls, skateboard falls, fighting... it's all part of being a boy and growing up!!!

Well said timmeh!!! Yes, Walleye are great tasting fish... but they aren't the only ones! I would much rather eat a Perch, Crappie, Bluegill, or Catfish than a bass!!! You'll be doing the Perch and Sunfish (Bluegill and Redear) population by taking a good feed or limit every so often, they have a tendency to overpopulate which will cause stunting. ... and yes, Pike are also excellent table fare as well!!!

I can't go either... but I won't be in Latvia either. I hate missing this trip worser than a 'Possum hates an ax handle!!! I will surely miss all of my Canadian and American friends that will be attending, I haven't said anything until now because I was hoping there'd be a chance... but alas... it's not in the cards for me this June. September may look better! Someone please drink some dark Cuban Rum for me! I'll be looking forward to all the reports and pics!!! I'm gonna miss y'all!!!
