Those lures suck and should never be used by anybody!!! ... but if you feel you must!... adjust your drag for the hook, not the line or the rod and you can pull in some pretty nice size little ones! The one you have is a 1/16th oz. Black in what they call the "Red Hook" Roostertail. My absolute favorite color pattern for clear water is the Whitecoachdog in either the 1/16 or 1/8 oz size. This fish was pulled in on a 1/8 oz. (the next size up from the one you were using) WCD on 4lb. test and ultra lite tackle... if you see that wall and grating in one of my reports, I'm throwing one of those sucky Roostertails! Here's a link to BPS's assortment of Roostertails: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s...00_false_25___1 They come in sizes from 1/24 to 1 oz... but if your fish are like mine you won't be able to up size too much until they stop biting it, I guess it doesn't look natural enough. A drop of Crawfish scent on the tail works wonders if the fish become picky! Buy lots and lots of them!!!

Uhhhhh.. aren't you actually supposed to stop fishing and move to another spot instead of pulling in fish after fish? Not that I give a rat's patootie how many OOS smallies you catch, but like you said... there are some folks on here... Yeah, we wanna see those pics too Simon!!!

They're shucked for you, and the size of a #9 mens shoe (U.S.)...\ the shell that is!!! there's enough hot sauce and horseradish to go around twice!!!.. would you care for a fourth dozen???... I'd pay big money to watch the fourth dozen go down the hatch!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I don't care how interesting a story is... if there isn't any pitchers, I just don't believe it! Fish after fish .. yeah, right!

Did I ever mention that the Netman is more worthy than the rodman??? Where would the rodman be without the Netman... eh JP and Chris K??? Good netmen are hard to come by... just ask Bly and MTP!!!... do you really want someone flogging your fish off the hook with the device that they're supposed to be helping you with???

It sounds like you're in the market for a 17' Deep "V" W/T with a 75 hp name brand to me, that should narrow it down a little... but still lots of choices!

Oil the bearings on you boat trailer wheels and see how long they last!!! Thge only thing I oil on a spinning reel is the handle knob and the bail pivots.
-
Tell her to take a flying leap at a rolling Kielbasa on a gravel road!!! Just another water front property owner that thinks she owns the water and the fish!!! I'd have farted in my hand and then waved it under her nose!!! When you packed things up and left... she won!

Quantam is a fancy name for Zebco! Stick with Shimano, anything else is garbage... especially that Diawa crap!!!
-
If you'll actually read your own link... they aren't Blue Pickeyes
-
You really do need to upgrade that Zebco 202 Joe! I once threw a baitcaster away, only to have the garbage man return it.. saying they weren't allowed to take feces. A spinng reel, grease everything!!! A baitcaster is mainly oiled! When you dismantle a spinning reel, lay the parts out in the order they came off of the assembly... especially if you don't have the exploded diagram!!! Remove the old grease with a damp cloth and regrease, don't worry about using too much grease... you can't! Reassemble the parts in the reverse order of the way they came off.

I've actually heard them called both names at once... Walleyed Pickeral! Those Minna-soda yankees will do anything for a laugh eh!!!

buying an outboard without seeing it run?

Write her a check and then check the motor out over the weekend, if it isn't any good... see if you can beat her to the bank Monday morning. If it hasn't be running in a year it will probably be hard to get started the first time if it wasn't winterized, check the lower unit lube for signs of milky looking fluid (water and oil mixed). Check the overall appearance of the motor first thing, if it's an 03 and wasn't used much it should look nearly new. -
Yeah, my Canadian wife is pretty vehement about Walleye being Pickeral. ... a Canadian pickeral looks just like a Walleye, only smaller! It's a regional/local thing, for instance... in Canada a Speck is a Brook Trout, here in Alabama it is the Saltwater Speckled Trout, and in Florida it's what they call Crappie. It can sound pretty ignorant at times, even to some of the locals... for instance, just a little north of me, around the Gadsden/Guntersville area they go fishing in the winter for Jack SaLmon (they pronounce the "L" in Salmon) which is actually a Sauger or Walleye ... that one takes the cake in my book!!!

If I remember correctly, a tiller slob sits to one side or the other and not in the center of the boat... that's so he can look around the side of the gunwales so he can see where the hell he's going!!!
