  1. did ya wear the retro geddy silver cape?
  2. you may not be able to get it in a hex head bolt but you will be able to get it in a machine screw with a robinson or philips head. skip canadian tire and go to home depot. machine screws are not that strong (gr2) you might want to redrill and tap to 1/4 and use a grade 8 bolt if it's something important
  3. not really a possibility when the bows are jumping on the surface before you have the rod out of rod holder on the rigger. with warm surface temps you should be prepared to keep some fish. when you have 50 degree surface the fish will swim away even when brought out of 100ft. but they will just quit when they are hauled into 65/70 degree waters.
  4. i switched all my trebles over, do your lymans to the stock hooks are crap. the bows have destroyed three split rings on me in my last 2 trips, rainbows hit hard i like siwash but they end up through the eyes of small fish, so bring a cooler east end is picking up? horrible year out there
  5. what terry said the more you spend the better features, get something that will scan more then 2 channels if you are useing it to gain info. i have a uniden hand held. you really should have one of any kind. the coast guard closed port d when they were towing a disabled boat and anounced it on 16. i would have hated to see the fine i would have got if i didn't have a radio
  6. funny i just can't see that happen on a pickeral charter
  7. everything else has been covered but you will get further from the boat with the ring on then you will without it.. larger surface area set your drag just tight enough that it slips when in a turn or you speed up a bit a lot of times you only know you got a 2 pounder when your hear click..........click................click
  8. gavin and jamie got theirs from anglers outfitters in woodstock. give josh a call he will set you up.
  9. as jamie said the ratchet tube holder from berts is the way to go. you can lift your rod straight up instead of having to pull it out away from the boat with the pursuit holder if it's tilted down.
  10. strikers will easily hold up to a wire dipsy strike. i don't use them but some very good salmon tourny guys do
  11. pull into the launch at an angle remove boat cover pull top out of pickup install top walk over with buddy to talk to shore guys fishing wonder why i am laughing this was last weekend
  12. don't worry with the trout and salmon gone there will be more forage for atlantics

  14. sorry about the nf post but i am a bit crunched for time. i need to renew my fac and need a passport photo. does anyone know of a place that does this in the hamilton burlington area same day. thanks d
  15. buy on spool of flea flicker or 40lb ande. splice on 125ft onto your main line to cover the downrigger drop. i have gone to 50lb because i use it for tying rigs for my trolling flys. i just splice on a length so when it's twisted bad from the dodger i can splice in a new length
  16. zebra mussels are in mindemoya why not this
  17. ya i remember hearing that. about f'n time i was beginning to seriously think about going contract so i could claim them. tell paul to stay off the snap-on truck and he wouldn't spend so much
  18. ya we got tickets to. seeing sabbath sober is going to be a first for me
  19. i have a uniden voyager. if you are just using it for safety a base model works. if you are using it fishing the great lakes and are listening to chatter buy a better model that will scan more then 2 channels. mine is scanning 10 16 17 68 72
  20. with 50lbs of gear each?
  21. 4 inches for me if it's your first time when it's cold out the ice is very noisy because it's making ice.when your new to it, it's a bit hard on the nerves when a crack goes between your legs even if it is safe
