  1. Fished a few smaller ones and always wanted to do a few bigger ones! If your in need of a partner this year , you know my email.......have rods will travel! Darren
  2. Jedi is correct, smallmouths can be hit hard in the areas they hibernate due to there schooling properties. Largemouth are generally more spread out and active at first ice. I like the regs the way they are, if you look at tourney weights of Ontario to most of the US you will see a great average weight up here. I do wish they had a prespawn catch and release season in Erie tho. Erie ciould take that pressure and it would offer some bonus fishing to anglers. Just cut it off around mid may before the fish start moving to the beds.
  3. I agree 100% Governator, ending a game like that with a shoot out is shameful! Ask the 19,000 in attendance if they wanted that game to end and go to a shootout 0.0 would say yes. Fun game to watch but the boys need to tighten there game up!
  4. As of last week before the rain its was 7 inches of grey ice and lots of slush.....rain will actually help it out.

  7. I can say with certainty we are pretty well tied. 24 x 18 was the measurement on mine as well. Caught it many years ago. Have caught a few 23"s and change since then but they didnt have the bulk of this dude. Real picture of the pike, I dindt take any girth measurements on her so I let the guys at Advanced figure it out but she was 48 Here is the bass. Only got the one photo of her but did all the measurements. I am not sure if the bass is fat or I was just skinny back then!
  8. Quality replicas cannot be topped, they dont age, dry or crack. I have 2 from Advanced and they are just awesome. I would never consider a skinmount again! My largemouth from Advanced My pike from my avatar
  9. Moosebunks was the best for me I think, simply awesome in every way, writing, photography! But the one post I wait for every year is DanC's late August trip to Nipigon every year! Maybe someday I will just bully my way into that amazing trip!!!!
  10. I have been trying to figure out over the last few weeks what is going to happen to the sportfishing boat manufactures over the next few years. Especially aluminum boat manufacturers. Since reaching an all-time high in July at $3,375 per tonne, the price of aluminum has tumbled to a more than five-year low around $1,440. Tis was the reason I heard Lund introduced there glass line last year. In this economy how are they going to sell all the stock they manufactured at the higher prices? and can they even survive for the next 2-3 years until the economy recovers and people start buying the new stock at the deflated values of the aluminum prices. I am no economist but I can't see many of the aluminum boat manufacturers surviving this. Maybe someone out there, a dealer or insider can answer these questions? Darren

  14. 1. defiantly looks like a tiger. 2. sometimes young pure strain muskies have a heavy barred pattern that goes away as they get older so its very hard to tell on that one. 3. Looks like a pure strain due to the pointed tail fin, hybrids usually have a rounded tail.
