  1. Congrats, don't stop now, life a a learning curve, just have to figure out how to make a straight line of it. 45 minutes off the commute, more time in the boat.
  2. Like C-B said, post a pic of the seat hole(don't be imagining anything) for the post, there are a few variations. Transducers cost anywhere from $45-80 depending on model and features, again we need the Fishfinder brand name and model # to send you in the right direction. If you're towing the boat right now, motor down, full speed ahead, make like a snowblower...just kiddin. Tilt up, lay to one side, tie off the steering at the front. There could be a tilt/lock mechanism on the motor(right side from rear) to prevent the motor slamming back down. Some guys will say, motor down, I don't like leaving prop marks on the roads.
  3. Bingo, you win that one hands down. Just saw a $1.15 for diesel, what are they nuts. And no, I'm not turning off my lights any earlier. If the cityies turned off all the high rise office towers, Goverment building lights, etc, we would never have an electricity shortage.
  4. 4 lines eh, can probably blame that on todays "New Math", if you're allowed 4 single hooks on one line, and, if you spread them out, is it okay to have 4 lines with a single hook, you don't have any more hooks in the water, damm math teachers, always getting people in trouble.
  5. A compass, learn how to use it and your nav chart or map, did I mention A COMPASS, when the GPS dies or is shut off from above, the compass still works. Do a couple practice runs, and believe in it, they have been around for a looooong time. Some cheap raingear that stays in the boat in a "dry box", along with photocopies of your fishing licence, boaters card and boat registration.
  6. If it's an unattended hole, no one around, it's a freeby to you, bring a small hatchet and you can easily pop open "yesterdays" holes.
  7. Ya, I just stand close to the coffee maker, lots of humidity coming off that and it smells good.
  8. Another unfortunate blunder at Bass Pro, I saw the the DVR at LeB for $125 in their catalogue(regular price), BPro grumbled but price matched. Obviously they don't care if they screw the next guy.
  9. On a calm day it will get you where you're going, you might want to presubmit your Canada pension request though. I tried a 3HP on the back of my 16' Princecraft, bare fishing boat, just not enough with the slightest wind. I would not do it.
  10. Aluminum for me, probably the biggest factor is weight, not so much for towing but moving the boat around the yard, garage, etc. Then probably for cleaning, pull the plug, pressure wash, done, no washing and waxing required.
  11. From what I've heard, yes, just enough snow to lub the sliders.
  12. like fishnsled said, wall mount direct vent heater, I have one in the garage, works great, no condensation and not much of a change on the heating bill.
  13. Do you have a window in the hut with a cover on the inside? Take a piece of plastic like a document protector, permanent pen and put your # on in 3" high letters/numbers and place between the plastic window and inside cover.
  14. Rich, you are now a candidate for re reading "General Prohibitions" in short..It is illegal to transport live fish, other than baitfish, taken from Ontario waters or to transfer or stock any fish into Ontario’s waters without a special licence to transport or stock fish. It is NOT legal.
  15. I would run a chain through the dock and lock to the boat, lock the trailer coupler to the hitch head and lock the hitch head to the receiver, otherwise....It's worth the $25 or so for peace of mind.
  16. Speaking from experience, cops in general just don't go arresting people for the exitement, having looked at it only once, there is definitely something wrong with the woman, and would believe that if they have her in front of the instrument, it's not cause she ran ove ran anthill. I have seen criminals self inflict to make it "look bad", and unless you have been on the other side of the coin, you often wouldn't believe what they're capable of. End of point.
  17. You have to look at a GMC...and then ruuuuunnnnnn as fast as you can the other way. GMC= Got More Cash. I'd drive a rickshaw before being burdened with another product from them.
  18. Thought I'd read enough wierd things until I read this: http://www.peizhang.com/forfun/forfun_writ..._darksucker.htm
  19. I'm sure you're going to find the stress level drop down a "notch or two", just by getting away from some of the rat race traffic and having a bit more time at home. For me it's 8-10 minutes to work and there isn't a rainbow with a real pot 'o gold that could ever change that.
  20. Don't think the Gov't droped the ball entirely, some onions don't have it written into their agreements, (suffer ya swines for a change) and are crying the blues, some companies have other options.
  21. Whaaat? Quit trying to scrounge another day off on the backs of the vets.
  22. You can check here http://www.waterlevels.gc.ca/C&A/bulletin_e.html and http://www.on.ec.gc.ca/water/level-news/intro-e.html
  23. Man, I hope he's got a carbide tip on the end of that thing, ptherwise things could get dull and bent pretty quick...
