  1. Go to a shop that deals with the motor you plan on buying and ask them, some do the check hot, some cold, that way you'll have a straight answer. All things bright and shiny can hide things on the inside that may look good from far, but far from good lookin. Do it right=peace of mind.
  2. One important thing no one has mentioned is size. It may be good to try it one and be happy in the standing position, but go sit and squat to make sure there's room enough for the family jewels and other parts, and, room enough to put on a fleece or sweater under it on cold days. Better a bit loose than looking like a knackwurst ready to explode.
  3. Well a number of years ago, everyone went crappie fishing in the Barrie Marina, about the 4th row of docks, right in front of the brick marina building. 2lb line, spitshot with a #6 or #8 hook, tiny minnows or rubber grubs or maggots with a slip float set to about 4 feet. Mostly before sunrise or after supper to about 10pm. If I give you any more, I think someones gonna shoot me.
  4. Take a close look at the rod locker locks, I've seen some that had a small number stamped in on the face, that's the key number. For the trailer tongue, if it's one of the locks that goes through the locking lever, look underneath, see the 3/4 or 13/16 nut...undo it, the assembly should then come off the top to replace or cut off the lock.
  5. Well it's strange how a week ago or so some people mentioned that the snowboat was a stupid idea, okay, don't buy it. Having looked at these pictures and then moaning about a towing problem...okay, pretty much fits the same scenario. The BBQ has 4 legs under it, pretty much a table top model by the looks of it, get a small folding table.
  6. We use them at an organized hunt every year with no real issues. Don't expect to get clear signals in the jungle or over extremes in terrain, over the moutain to the next valley. In general we have no trouble, sometimes you have to mvoe a few feet, but that's about it. When you do your research, get the ones with the highest output wattage. Some are listed by distance, that's a gimmick, the ones I bought are 4 watt, I've seen models in the Cabela's magazine up to 5 watt now. Make sure you can replace the rechargeable batteries with "AA" types if the others die out. Mine also came with a 12VDC/120VAC charger.
  7. Now imagine if you went to the Orient and your name was Ron Mower. An aquaintence through work has a friend, Craven Moorehead.
  8. And if a girls last name is "Dyke", which way are you going to pronounce it? Ask that one in front of 24 students.
  9. I had a girl in my grade 10 english class, Jennifer Blows, she had 3 sisters...not going there..
  10. Sucking the water out to irrigate may well be part of the problem, again forced by profit. Can't grow enough, you loose. Too many people needing water in an arid area, well pretty soon you dry up the resource. Where does it end.
  11. Those wheel assemblies actually retract while fishing and power back down to get mobile, clearance I think is about 7 inches.
  12. You beter have a gas auger or eat lot of spinach tonight. Out there today, anywhere from 24-30+ inches. Couldn't believe when the auger almost bottomed out drilling the first hole.
  13. Please show me the reference for #5
  14. Just out of curiosity, where all those fishermen hairy with protruding eyebrows and knuckles dragging on the ground? You're hanging around with the wrong species.
  15. Well dang, learn something new every day, Thanks for the insight.
  16. Just looked at the flyer again, don't be rushin' out there tomorrow, it says, sale starts March 15-21
  17. Upside down cinnamon bums. Where's the icing??
  18. They are showing a gas auger in the picture, I can only assume it includes them...
  19. Just got next weeks CTC flyer, there's a 1/2 price sale on some ice fishing equipment, including some huts, augers, rods & reels, etc.
  20. There's a couple of variables in the equation, one being the battery capacity, the other being the charger max output. Most batteries should not be charged higher than the C/10 rate, or C=Battery capacity/divided by 10. Therefore a 100amp battery/10= max charging rate of 10 Amps. A much larger 200 amp battery can be charged at 20 amps, but for the lifespan of the battery, it is adviseable to do it at a lower rate. Sort of like a 200 lb man can eat 5 hamburgers, but don't try and jam them in all at once.
  21. Cats meow for running Fish finders, I can get at least 3-4 days of long use before having to recharge.
  22. Well then I guess I'll have to pizz on your parade, cause with your attitude, I suppose they should just give Joe DUI a slap onn the hand or maybe just $0.10 for a fine. What's the difference, follow the rules and nobody will even bother to look at you.
  23. I suppose that if the transom saver companies were to give away free samples to the "pros", then all of a sudden they would be the best thing since sliced bread. When they are properly installed and snug along with the boat being snug on the trailer, everything moves in usison, no banging around at all. I made my first one and then have a store bought model since '96, no damage to my motor or boat.
  24. So you're moaning that it was dead, nobody steppin on yer toes, gettin in yer way? Jeez, I'd look at that as a bonus, nobody coughing or sneezing in your face, bumpin and tying up the staff, long line up at the cash....
  25. Good point, but I wonder how much drag an oversize dipsy with a lure behind will create in comparison to alligator bait?
