Load, back trailer into water just touching the rear center roller to water, hook winch strap to bow eye, crank, saftety chain, go park somewhere out of the way and finish the tie downs and securing all the kit and caboodle. Go to a shop that deals with the motor you plan on buying and ask them, some do the check hot, some cold, that way you'll have a straight answer. All things bright and shiny can hide things on the inside that may look good from far, but far from good lookin. Do it right=peace of mind.

Take a close look at the rod locker locks, I've seen some that had a small number stamped in on the face, that's the key number. For the trailer tongue, if it's one of the locks that goes through the locking lever, look underneath, see the 3/4 or 13/16 nut...undo it, the assembly should then come off the top to replace or cut off the lock.
