  1. So, next time think before you stir the pot..
  2. I'll second Sunset Cove, nice place.
  3. Yer gonna look pretty funny when we set up the trip wires and you do a face plant right in the MooMoo cowpattie.
  4. Try Gilford Runabouts at 705-718-2766.
  5. I once suggested they do their biking, running and walking down the middle lane of the 400 on a Monday morning at 700am and see the results. I agree, it's a major PITA.
  6. Well there's always the remaining option of driving a pre '07 Dodge with a 5.9 Cummins. I've got the Quad cab, big enough for adults that don't need a reclining rear sofa, 4x4 with 2H/4H/4L non electric shift, 6 1/2' box, and, 4-5000 lb towing capacity , I think you could probably hitch Brians Ford on with the 4-5K and still not really notice it and, it still gets around 23mpg empty and around 18-19 with a 22' travel trailer behind it. I guess Brian would get a bit of a free ride..
  7. It's broke & kaput...again, getting to be more of an annoyance than anything.
  8. Good logic, I suppose all that board airplanes must take mandatory flying lessons, just in case
  9. Do a bit of research when or if you buy an inverter, there are different quality levels, MSW or modified sine wave inverters are not the greatest for electronic items such as microwave/TV/DVd's etc, you are better off with a true full sine wave inverter, they cost more but don't cost you in the long run.
  10. Keep it up and pretty soon you won't be able to go for a number two without wearing gloves, or maybe you'll have to wear a helmet with faceshield while waiting for the toast to pop up. Common sense is one of those things you can't legislate, for me, there's far too many life jackets in the human gene pool. This is going to be another one like wearing a floater suit in the hard water season. Ice isn't thick enough, stay off it, can't follow common sense, rescue your own butt.
  11. You could always cut it down and make a nice ice fishing rod from it.
  12. Take off the "depends" and put on some pants if you're the man.
  13. Hurry and stock up on everything now and save the tax down the road, although the taxman will probably come by and bone you anyway 'cause you had premeditated though of screwing him out of their share.
  14. Normally at this time of year there would be the odd salmon coming up, so far I have not seen or heard of any, not surprised after the last 4-5 years it's getting worse every year. Lack of food for the salmon, far too many nets, cormorants, it all adds up. You might be better off fishing in the river just upstream from the boat launch in the park, there's the odd bass and walleye, catfish and carp for fun.
  15. Rick: I'll try to explain it this way. The numbers I will use are just arbitrary, no particular vehicle, eg, your vehicle(car) has a cargo capacity of 800 lbs and a tow capacity of 1500 lbs. Most but not all as you mentioned, list those capacities as the standard vehicle with full tank of gas with one 150lb driver. So if you take your car with yourself, no fishing gear, then you are good for the 1500lb trailer. Now that you have a trailer hooked up to the hitch, the tongue weight of the trailer and the weight of the hitch must be subtracted from the allowable cargo capacity, so subtract about 150lbs tongue weight + 100lbs for the hitch=250lbs, subtract that from the allowable 800lbs cargo capacity=550lbs. You can still tow the boat. Add other gear in the car, subtract it from the cargo weight, add more gear in the boat and you would most likely max out the numbers very quickly. As for the TDI's being gutless, opinions are like ringpieces, everyone has one and most stink.
  16. That's why I said usually, Fords & GMs are ...unusual
  17. Max towing capacity is usually listed as the weight towed behind an empty vehicle with one 150lb driver, no other cargo in the trunk or passengers. Any extra cargo and passengers must be subtracted from the max tow weight. Tongue weight must also be included in the calculation. The biggest problem with unibody type vehicles is that there is no actual frame to bolt the trailer hitch to, it's mostly attached to body sheet metal. Check the owners manual, it's listed under towing. If you don't have a manual, go see your closest dealer, otherwise you may be seeing your dealer for repairs that aren't covered by opinions.
  18. Three giving advice that's really, really smart, suppose PURE gets into an accident even if it isn't his fault, are you guys going to pony up and cover the costs. Makes you realy wonder sometimes.
  19. There's a lot of private campgrounds out there, I've attached one link, you can search by region by clicking on the map areas. Some will also have good used trailers and or RVs right on site. I just typed in "private campgronds ontario" in Yahoo search. Those listings will give you all the amenities available at each campground. http://www.campgrounds.org/Home.aspx?PageI...enu-menuItem000
  20. Well, while the rest of us are out there getting wet and being lashed by waves you'll be "high and dry", nothing wrong with that. I would drop it for trailering though.
  21. There's a Cabela's in Dundee, Michigan, about 30 minutes or so S/W of Detroit. Bring a neck brace and jaw holder, somehow BPS never impressed me as much as Cabela's.
  22. Upset, my shorts were so tight and knotted that... knot likely,
  23. I'm curious on your tiller steering friction knob, is it on the end of the handle, those are usually for the throttle friction, maybe something different.
  24. Okay, why doen't you start posting pictures of some obscure beetle from outer Mongolia(no offense to any Mongolians). How about sticking to the local species that will keep everyone informed and honest.
  25. The steering friction adjustment on a tiller is usually a bolt on the side of the part that mounts on the transon, either left or right side about /2 way between the two pivot points. Have it just tight enough that if you let go of the tiller handle that the motor doesn't turn left or right by itself. Motor trim can be from a couple degrees either side of vertical, totally vertical, well depends how much weight you're carrying each time it may be a bit different. Each boat is different.
