  1. Yup makes you feel like you did something right!! I hope we've both moved into a new era.
  2. Awesome Dan I'm jealous haven't been up to fish the Nip now in 4 yrs. Gotta get back.
  3. Awesome report Appreciative Hug from daughter>PRICELESS
  4. My 19yr old son who was my enthusiastic fishing partner until he hit his mid teens (at which point friends and his life became more important) went fishing with me yesterday and got a decent 15 inch smallie on his first cast. River conditions made fishing tough but he ended up with 4 good smallies on the day. (Sorry no pics) So tonight I take him home to his mothers and he says " So you think there would be some smallmouth over by waterworks park? Do you think I can take some fishing equipment till I see you again so I can give it a try ?" Almost made me weep tears that did.
  5. Saw a fully mature bald eagle yesterday while out bass fishing. First time Ive seen one here. To clarify not Port Maitland but the Maitland River
  6. My son was an elite travel baseball player from 16 to 18 yrs old Base cost $7500. My choice to pay it. So yes sports can be expensive. I can't imagine what the same type of program for hockey might cost. But panhandling just doesn't cut it. Car Wash is very little dollar layout and heck whenever I see kids doing it I always give them a couple of bucks without getting my car washed because they are trying to pay their own way.
  7. For scale Mike this video is from five days travel upstream of Aba Tough to beleive the same river was impassable in July http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lowpZrHSxe8
  8. Brookies are supposedly in the Kowkash river that flows in and out of the lake. That's where you'd get them and undoubtedly only in the spring when the water is still high and cool and the river is still accessable. Once early to mid June rolls around don't think you'd be catching any specs. We were there from the 5th till the 13th of June this year and it was still just early. Water was still high and muddy and the stoneflys hadn't really started yet. Talked to my friend up there a couple weeks later after he finished his trip down the river and he said they were coming on strong. So I'm guessing mid june is perfect timing for the river. Here's a couple of Kowkash fish
  9. Did your Dad mention that big fish gets twenty dollars? It's great to see a young person take to fishing so enthusiastically. Oh and I was up there in June and you woulda kicked my but as well.
  10. A couple things. The Stop that you made just past Aroland I'm pretty sure we got gas there after we did the Kowkash was there a big yellow Mastiff there? Did you get up into the Kowkash at all? It flows into and out of the Aba in the SE part of the lake. And on a light note your daughters FISH ON was crowded steelheader water worthy. Those memories for all 3 generations are worth more than all the money in the world.
  11. Give the Bonshaw a try got a whack there in August once but nothing big
  12. It appears as though I should have fished there instead of the Kowkash
  13. No South Park-Bigger/Longer/Uncut? possibly the funniest movie ever.
  14. I'll laugh if its big waves my buddies racing the 300 this weekend he'll be chucking up his cookies the whole way.
  15. I stayed at this conservation area during my sons baseball eliminations a couple of years ago. Wet waded along the beach casting body baits and spinners and caught plenty of smallmouth and silver bass. Nothing huge though http://www.erca.org/conservation/area.holiday_beach.cfm
  16. Yup your there a little late for trout fishing unless you come equipped with leadcore or wire line. You actually did okay for so late in the season. Try i again between Mid may and June first. If you do go again PM me and I'll give you a few locations to try. Rabbit Blanket really has no fish to speak of. Put and take fishery only.
  17. This. Tim's a very astute fella and an okay fisherman.
  18. I'm going to second Restoule you and your son will love it
  19. Hello Musky fishing Good bye disposable income. Congrats on a successful outing

  21. I'm going to withdraw the offer other plans have reared their head.
  22. Well the plan is to not actually fish in KW but some of my lesser known honeyholes but leave from KW Not lookinhg like anyone is too interested though. If you have a flyrod we could make it bass and brookies or if u just want to learn to fly fish I'll be your guide for brookies and learning the hows of flyfishing. After we slay bass all morning.
