  1. The possession laws usurp the spoilage laws. Spoilage laws only refer to legally caught fish. The 'summary of regulations' are just that...a summary. They are not the actuals laws. In order to make them less wordy and more understandable, they are abridged. If you are keeping an out of season fish, you will be charged..there is no exception.
  2. Congrats you two. Wishing you a long and happy life together!
  3. Guys and gals...none of us have the time to clean up threads that go awry. The issue at hand is neither new or about to be fixed by anyone too soon. Both sides have merit, however we still cannot allow those threads to go on the way they do. Remember you agreed to all the rules when you signed up here. It isn't perfect, but it is the best we have
  4. A reasonable receipt with seperate invoices for boat, motor and trailer would help you only pay tax on what you are obligated. The motor is likely 70% of the value on a full boat/motor/trailer package. Last time I bought used there was no tax payable on the motor.
  5. Patience more than anything. Our host screwed up big. Left hand/right hand issues.
  6. Assembled in Canada. Hulls are from the states though.
  7. Good to see you back, Sis. Not sure why you have the issue with the log in. I am at JewelBee's house now...logged in as her on Firefox and me on IE on the same laptop. Try a different browser see if that helps.
  8. Do the Whirlpool if you are in decent physical condition, the stairs are good, but it is a tough climb. It is worth it!! Salmon are in, musky, bass, carp..everything.
  9. Okay...after thinking about it and looking at the numbers..it is a certainty that several participants are cheating. The site admins only need to look at the referrer logs to know for sure. Mackenzie...integrity is worth way more than what the site is giving away. If I were in it, I would be asking for a reasonable explanation of the counts and how it jives with math and logic. Without a script or hack, the first several leaders could not have physically come up with those counts in that time span. All that they would have needed to do was include a CAPTCHA entry and it likely would have been fine. Now you know why we keep this site software upgraded!
  10. Nice work....but now everyone is going to be fishing that spot!!
  11. There are three things that dictate casting distance outside of your strength. The magnetic brake set up, the spool tension screw and your thumb. Once you get the hang of it all, you will turn off more brakes, use a standard tension adjustment and just do the rest with your thumb. Casting into the wind means more tension adjustment added. That is the hardest part. Some days the fish are on during a big blow up and casting is very hard. Get out on the piers with the spoon chuckers and get some time in. It is the only way...it is a 'feel' you develop with experience because each rod/reel set up works differently.
  12. According to David Phillips... "What you see is what you're going to get," Phillips said. Nationally, it's a safe bet 2010 will go down as the hottest year on record, he added, noting Canada already posted a record warm winter and spring. "You'd almost need September snowfalls with brutally cold temperatures for the rest of the year to erase that possibility." So with a record year and the most of the great lakes near or above record temps, how is that going to affect the fall feed-bag drive for the big predators?
  13. My last two riveted boats didn't leak at all. Irishfield will be back in a few weeks likely. He will know.
  14. If the lure can't be shaken out and it is interfering with eating, the fish will likely succumb before the hooks rust out. But, it is a risk we take every single time we fish. Catch and Release probably has a 10% overall delayed mortality rate (higher in the mid summer or some species caught in deep water). But kept fish have a 100% mortality. Not much you can do...80 pound line would leave anyone feeling confident. It is gonna happen even when you take precautions which you clearly have done.
  15. Julie loves fishing. Bugs me all the time to go out. She caught a 13 pound walleye her first time out with me. I don't really think she quite grasps how big a deal that is..lol. She learned how to use a baitcaster in ten minutes and still has yet to toss up a birds nest. I will take pictures if she does, though. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1I-Yn30jzUM?fs=1&hl=en_GB"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1I-Yn30jzUM?fs=1&hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1I-Yn30jzUM?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

  19. A sanctuary would never be delineated by a tree or other temporary landmark. Call the MNR info line for details.
