  1. http://www.bassresource.com/fish_biology/largemouth-seasonal-habits.html Shloim, it's going to be a hard thing to figure it out overnight, there are way to many variables, and up there you have even more species competing for the same food. Try to learn all you can about the species you want to target, some prefer different types of habitat, water temps, food, but they do wander.
  2. Do they have NAPA auto parts stores in your area? Most auto parts store carry parts for trailers here state side.
  3. If you want to target catfish and eliminate some of the other species? Try cut baits, like mentioned or liver, shrimp, prepared catfish baits. Crawlers, minnows and such will attract a lot of fish that might have a closed season? I have caught channel cats on lures, it wouldn't be my intended choice for fishing for them, especially with a lot of closed season fish around! Don't know the river, it looks good in pictures, fish current breaks, eddies, pools. They will chase food, but like to hang out and see or smell what drifts by?

  5. Lake Erie Silver bass! Yes, they do fight like a walleye, but I held walleye up for pictures a couple of times! LOL
  6. It was worse when you paid for crawfish to feed to sheephead! LOL
  7. LOL old, I used live bait at time on Lake Erie fun fishing. It's a rarity for bait shops here to sell leeches, but with a fuzzy grub and a golden shiner or bigger chub you could locate smallies in a hurry! If you could keep the walleye away!
  8. net, fish are fish, it doesn't matter if they are in the great lakes or not, if it is smaller than them? they might eat it! Just the presentation and preference may vary from day to day? I had great days smallie fishing using small jigs and roadrunner style lures, sometimes tubes and cranks aren't what they are looking for?
  9. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Jewel_Bait_Sculpin/descpage-JS.html http://zoombait.com/4-inch-mini-lizard/ http://zoombait.com/4-dead-ringer/ http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Berkley_Gulp_Goby_4_8pk/descpage-BGGY.html http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Poor_Boys_Erie_Darter/descpage-PORBEDR.html The bait list is pretty big, you probably have different choices up north too.
  10. It's been a long time since I could fish, I used 8# test Berkley Vanish if the water was real clear. Those hooks in the link are probably the way to go, I believe there are similar ones in other brands, chevy-ford thing. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Mustad_KVD_Zero_Twist_Shot_Hook_5pk/descpage-KVZT.html Hook size = bait size, I didn't like going too small with a hook. The straight drop shot weight will probably get snagged less on a rocky bottom, or you can use the same style in a slip sinker and peg it with a rubber worm sinker peg, the line will slip out with constant pressure. How deep of water are you trying to fish? I have caught smallies in a foot or two of water, but usually in the early spring or at night.

  12. LOL, same here, i don't think we got 12 inches of snow total all winter, most of it came down as rain! My son said most of the area ponds never got much more than sheet ice on them and it's all gone. It was like 70 degrees here today? When i let my dog out this morning all I heard was birds singing!
  13. Only limited experience with Steelhead, but the water is cold, should hold oxygen well, so there isn't much need for them to be deep?
  14. http://www.lex18.com/story/31427573/i-75-south-to-reopen-at-jellico Both lanes are now open southbound, the plan is for 1 northbound lane to open by the 24th.
  15. Ouch! I have had my dog now for almost 10 years, he behaves more like a human than some humans! LOL Outside of sticks in the yard, which he insists need killing by breaking them in pieces, and chasing the animals that wander into my yard he doesn't mess with stuff that isn't his. i was disabled and retired when I got him though, and had plenty of time to teach him the acceptable conduct. LOL Just a great dog! and much easier to train than a wife!
  16. http://lurepartsonline.com/Online-Store/Leader-Wire/Twist-Weld-Spool.html I used to use that for making my own toothy critter snelled hooks and worm harnesses. A #2 or 4 hook does seem a bit small for a large walleye, but it is mostly the type? I don't recommend light wire hooks for big fish, but on a worm harness anything bigger than a 2/0 might make it hard to get a hook in the perch that eats the worms? LOL

  20. http://www.cleveland19.com/story/31332773/web-update-interstate-75-shut-down-in-tennessee " Interstate 75 shut down at Kentucky-Tennessee line for weeks " " The detour would normally take about one hour, but with heavier traffic could take hours. " Just an update for anyone planning on heading south, I - 75 might not be a good choice.
  21. Not sure how gas prices are east of here or south, but at the gas station closest to me? 1.79 a gallon.

I took I-75 down to Tampa in 2009, driving thru Georgia took forever, and I saw more speed traps there than the rest of the trip combined.
  23. I think I saw on the news today that I -75 is closed in both directions somewhere in Tennessee due to a major rock slide? http://www.navbug.com/traffic_conditions_on/tennessee/i-75.htm It's supposed to be around 60 degrees here tomorrow, driving conditions should be ok?
