  1. https://www.cnn.com/videos/us/2019/05/16/texas-dam-collapse-roth-newsource-orig.cnn High water can cause problems.
  2. Up north with all the rocks no lower unit in the water is a plus? How big is your kicker motor? the prop looks huge?
  3. I used to live about 1/2 mile from Lake Erie and now about 25 mile due south, that lake is a giant heat sink in the spring, it's usually around 10 degrees F warmer here than along the lake shore in the spring.
  4. Boat Latches | Marine Latches | Latches for Boat Doors Catches & Latches | West Marine Some of them do seem awfully high priced, especially if you want to match the latch. Just thinking that if boat builders are like car builders you might need an exact match for it to work properly?
  5. LOL, don't forget groundhogs! the other white meat!
  6. https://kingfisherboats.com/boats/river-jet-1875-falcon/ Nice looking boat!
  7. Glad you found one in time for the weekend!
  8. Is there a limit on crappies in that body of water?
  9. Are you really in Milton ON? Mercury Marine Ltd Address: 8698 Escarpment Way, Milton, ON L9T 0M1, Canada Province: Ontario Phone: +1 905-636-4700 They might? or point you to some one that does?
  10. https://www.gator-guards.com/tips-install-keelshield-aluminum-boats/ Never had one, no idea if this info applies to all brands, but they mention Lund boats in this one. Rivets are a no-no?
  11. https://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/fl-sp-outdoors-everglades-fishing-20170511-story.html Evidently they are good people food too?
  12. Lew, years ago my former wife and I were standing in our garage watching a storm and it's light show. All at once there was a big crack of lightning and she started dancing, the lip of the garage floor was wet from rain and she was barefoot, I had flip flops on. I didn't feel a thing. When we went back inside a tv and stereo were both toasted, I put surge protectors on everything now. The lightning hit a tree just up the road and cracked the heck out of it.
  13. I saw 2 fish in the picture too, no idea of the color variations on those fish, but they both look to be the same species to me.
  14. Just my opinion, but a 42 inch shaft might be ok on a john boat or low profile boat like a bass boat used in calmer waters, anything else and I would go with a 48 inch shaft minimum.
  15. Puns are fun?
  16. LOL, take a look on the list for Florida's state record for red ear sunfish, 4.86 pounds? Panfish as big as the pan? When I was young my next door neighbor's grandfather had a 2 acre pond out in the country here in northern Ohio, it was pretty common to catch bluegills pushing a pound there, for there size they fought well!
  17. LOL, google search, you can usually find anything? If you're going out on big water a gps or compass will also be a good plan? Went out on Lake Erie one fall day and the fog rolled in, we weren't more than a half a mile off shore but we couldn't see it, I was real glad for regular trains and the noise they made that day, I had a compass before I went out again.
  18. Hack, your boat is like this one? https://forums.iboats.com/forum/owners-groups-by-manufacturer/s/starcraft-boats/648918-1974-starcraft-16-ft-super-sport In my youth I used my dad's 5hp motor on camp and rental boats, bare bones aluminum ones, 16 footers, I wasn't going anywhere fast, but it beat the heck out of rowing! Just my view? For a boat as pictured a 9.9 minimum? The boat pictured has to weigh x2 of those camp and rental boats? Not sure how slow you really need to troll, I trolled for walleyes, pike, smallies with my 35hp Merc on a 16'8" side console and speed was never an issue, with a 60hp or more maybe?
  19. I remember them doing that at Pointe Au Baril too, and with the number of rocks there some of the places they were doing it were places I really didn't want to be when I could see the rocks!
  20. I had my Searay docked in west harbor in the Port Clinton area in the mid 1980's and it wasn't unusual to be walking thru water Memorial Day weekend to get to my dock. In the 90's some of those places in East and West harbor could have used a couple of more feet of water! When you stand a chance of 10 - 12 feet + waves hitting the shoreline with any good storm? it should be a warning not to build to close to it?
  21. No clue, but I might mix in an underspin with a baitfish style trailer or yo yo a lipless crankbait.
  22. https://www.cleveland19.com/2019/05/09/northern-ohio-residents-try-make-light-flooded-conditions-along-lake-eries-shoreline/
  23. LOL, ya Phil, I was walking a lot better back then!
