Yes that happened quickly! We used to cross into Ontario on the Fort Erie bridge and on our trips to the falls would stop and look at the river, a lot of current and with the extra wind push? Back in the 1980's we had a bunch of people lose their boat that were stored on cradles at an area marina in a river valley. One spring the ice let go and just pushed them out into a metal breakwall in the lake.

It has been howling here since very early this morning, supposedly a tractor trailer blown over on I - 71 and a ban on some high profile vehicles on parts of the Ohio turnpike. They were calling for wind gusts of up to 65 mph here, my vinyl siding is tell me about it! It was supposedly 56 degrees when I got up this morning, down to 39 now. So renting cabins on a lake and encouraging people to come and fish could also be commercial fishing? They are also exploiting our natural resources for profit? While I don't agree with all aspects of tournament fishing it has at least for bass encouraged awareness of catch and release to sustain a fishery? LOL, I remember fishing some of those same spots in my youth, we didn't see any bass, sure water quality has a lot to do with that though.

Ya, same here Dave, I don't ever recall seeing a lefty knuckle buster. My first free spool reel was an Abu 1750, not much difference in size than the Langleys and also casted well. LOL, I think I paid around 15 bucks for it new, and around 25 bucks for my 2 5001c's, sold all 3 of them to a Japanese reel collector back in the later 1990's for 450 bucks. Given the price price of reels these days I broke even?

Even a lot of tackle stores didn't stock lefty's back then, my first was an Abu 5001c I saw at a local tackle shop and bought on the spot, he only had one. Not positive of the time line anymore, but we moved to the burbs in 1973 and I know I had it when we moved, it was the only lefty I had ever seen up to then. I think Shimano did a lot to make them more readily available.

Years ago I saw pictures of Ken Lea camp in PAB in the winter, I would want to be sure who plows the roads and what is on me! Not everyone can handle the isolation that a winter outside of the city or burbs might entail.

" Akri, I live in a rural township here, a move to the nearest small city would almost double my property taxes for a home of equal value. The township is run by elected trustees and they are basically part time employees, we don't have to pay taxes for a full time mayor and things like that. Our police protection is contracted out thru the county sheriff and our fire department is volunteers.

https://www.hlrbo.com/Listing/Search/OH Heck it seems like an industry here in places, part of it is way more people and a lot less public hunting lands, most of the public areas get hit really hard. There are all kinds of options? daily, weekly, monthly, and annually leases, and on some sites you bid on a lease like ebay.

I don't know how it works up there, but stateside, especially in some of the southern states people pay big bucks to lease land for hunting, and other than them and the actual property owner it's pretty much exclusive use of the land for hunting.

Ya, it's not just hunters though, about 8-10 years before I moved out to this area my brother and I used to come out here to fish a couple of farm ponds, he had gotten us permission to do so. One day we went back and were told no more, some clown he had also given permission to fish them decided to take a short cut back to the ponds and drove across his newly planted field in wet weather and buried his pickup, and then had the gall to go to the farmer and ask him to tow him out. Really no clue on that one, there was a driveway next to the farmers home back to the ponds, it seems a bit more respect was in order?

I will agree with Old, it's not just a PA problem, it was a regular issue here until I started taking license plate numbers and calling the game warden. Some years back an area guy was shot and killed in his back yard during hunting season and whoever did it just left him lay and took off. If you can't see what you are shooting at? are you really a hunter?
