  1. I remember them doing that at Pointe Au Baril too, and with the number of rocks there some of the places they were doing it were places I really didn't want to be when I could see the rocks!
  2. I had my Searay docked in west harbor in the Port Clinton area in the mid 1980's and it wasn't unusual to be walking thru water Memorial Day weekend to get to my dock. In the 90's some of those places in East and West harbor could have used a couple of more feet of water! When you stand a chance of 10 - 12 feet + waves hitting the shoreline with any good storm? it should be a warning not to build to close to it?
  3. No clue, but I might mix in an underspin with a baitfish style trailer or yo yo a lipless crankbait.

  5. LOL, ya Phil, I was walking a lot better back then!
  6. The last time I went fishing Deg and Whopper from the board took me out with one of Whopper's friends, like 2005? We started out from a western basin harbor and left a mud trail as we left the dock. Wind direction there was always a factor on the water level, but even from fishing that area from years before the water level was low. I saw a video a while back of a friend of a friend fishing a western basin harbor a couple of years ago, and it looked like the were dredging that area.
  7. I caught one a Pointe Au Baril one year that was coughing up crayfish.
  8. It's pretty cool to see some of these studies, walleye aren't afraid to travel, they do the same on Lake Erie.
  9. Lake Erie is at record high levels right now and could cause ’catastrophic’ erosion problems I guess the water level is high?

  11. This is usually a peak time of year for them here, this year has been screwy though weather wise! 71 here today, tomorrow the high is forecast for 51, them cold fronts just keep rolling in!
  12. It's been a lot of years since I was on Lake Erie Chuck but it also had massive schools of emerald shiners, we would usually see them in the fall along the break walls while smallie fishing and some seemed 100 yards long. We also seem to have our fair share of gobies and I am guessing freshwater shrimp too, along with the mayfly and midge hatches that drive people living along the lakefront nuts.

  14. Like 40 or more years ago I fished a bass tournament with a guy, his boat. Practice day I noticed his depth finder was gone when we were launching, I sold it and I am getting a better one. After a short period on the water the floor of the boat was wet. Dude? we have a problem? He didn't fill the transducer holes, we had to take a couple of sheet metal screws out of his van to plug them.
  15. No fish in Simcoe!
  16. Kind of what I thought, evidently no shortage of food for them there. It seems to me that Lake Erie used to be better for perch, but with the ban on Walleye netting here they focus on perch. Looks like the makings of a great fish fry!
  17. LOL, the elusive lake x? I haven't really fished for perch here since I was in high school Brian, but I can't recall ours here being that portly any time of year.
  18. David, just curious, what body of water is that? Always impressed by some of the perch pics, I can't recall seeing them that fat on this side of Erie, even pre spawn.
  19. No idea how much of this rain makes its way up north, but it is pouring here and the 10 day out look isn't sunny! https://www.cleveland19.com/weather/
  20. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Dobyns_Fury_Casting_Rods/descpage-DFC.html They list a couple swimbait rods that are more budget friendly.
  21. Today's video, just videos of different brands, but if you look at his favorite combo for throwing them it may help?
  22. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/102572-5-senko-and-hook-weight/ not sure how accurate this is but a 5 inch senko and a 3/0 wide gap hook is 3/8ths of an ounce, very doable with a baitcaster.
  23. Says a bit about the driver shortage here to me if you have a 76 year old guy driving your truck? I know some older people still get around well, but...
