Interesting poll for more than one reason, ya most plastics are garbage when your done with them dispose of properly. Surprising the number of people that don`t have much faith in them, I don`t go fishing without them.

I have a 17 foot side console with a 35 hp, the boat is rated for a 60hp so I am just under 2/3. It is not fast, older style only 73 inches wide. Most of my fishing was on Lake Erie or the tributaries and inland lakes, a few trips to the Georgian Bay. It worked, had to keep a close eye on the weather, and yes I should have got a bigger motor. It was easy to take were I wanted to go, the one your looking at will work. JMO it`s not what your out there in, it`s what you do when your out there.

If the head is torn up on things like lizards or 6 inch worms I will break the torn up part off and fish them on a jig head like a grub or trailer.

Unionism born out of communism? I guess that is one way of looking at it, sort of like our Union of states? We got tired of unfair taxation and had a little revolution? LOL Actually if you wait for your employer to better your standard of living it might be a long wait. Even when Henry Ford raised the Auto workers pay to 5 dollars a day he had reasons behind it. He couldn`t keep employees, employee turn over was near 50%, and there were standards you had to meet to get that pay, a social engineering project. China probably doesn`t have that problem, show up here, work, or don`t eat, if that doesn`t work we have stronger measures. Not a communist myself, and from what I have seen and read there hasn`t really been any true communist countries, just people fighting for control and calling it that. Great debate though, you can disagree, and stay civil, LOL and friends. Most of us are stuck with what happens around us.

Cookslav, I had a 1986 chevette can`t say anything bad about it. I bought it used for like 1300 bucks and had it around 10 years. The timing belts would wear out but were easy to fix. Gas milage was good and I didn`t need to drive a fancy car to have it parked in the lot at work for 10 to 15 hours a day. Never owned a foreign car, never had too many problems with the American built cars I have bought. I buy them used and drive them till they die or I find something better at a good price. I am just guessing, but if chinese workers were allowed to speak they might not be real happy with their working conditions. A lot of the products you buy now come from countries that don`t let their workers have much say, or choice.

Dogs- two boston terriers(in my avatar) and a lab mix(mutt) all good dogs, just want to meet people and play. Two cats outside, lol a gift of the neighbors over crowding, the momma cats got tired of the crowd(cats) and carried her baby over and dropped her on the garage floor about 10 years ago, they haven`t left yet. One bird- a finch, used to be two, my daughters deal. Used to have a couple of turtles, my sons, he didn`t want to take care of them, we released them in a local pond.

The workers make what the bosses and executives tell the to make, with the parts and equipment provided maybe the management should make minimum wage?

I made my own jigheads for tubes, ball and mushroom heads also. Clean reels, got the boat ready for the next season. Made the trip to BPS, Cabela`s, Netcraft to stock up for the season and the infamous honey do list. Kemper leave the honeys alone and you will have more time to fish.

Blame the unions? Just don`t see it sure there are abuses, same on the corporate side. Don`t worry though once wages and benefits drop to the level of 3rd world nations the jobs will come back. Free trade is basically move the jobs to the countries with the lowest pay, least restrictive enviromental laws so the owners can get richer. Then there is open your borders so the cheap labor can sneak in. The problem isn`t people don`t want to do those jobs, it`s the employers don`t want to pay a wage you can live on, they want to keep all the money.

Just checked my BPS catalog(2007) 230 to 2000 US dollars( I am in USA) friends paid less than 300 I think, don`t know which model they have. One buddie fishes crappie tournies, a clear lake he could see them bite and not feel them, water conditions here usually aren`t that good. Another buddie used his at Chautaqua lake in NY and saw fish (walleye or ski as I recall)bumping his camera not his lure, LOL. It did allow him to see why fish frequented the spot. He won one of our club tournies at the spot, and since hasn`t hit the spot the same time as the fish. He won the tournie before he got the camera. A tool, if you got the money to spend it may be of some use, just don`t know about depending on them too much.

Dang Glen a coat? Couple of guys I know also have the aqua views or similar cameras, same deal, need pretty clear water for them to be of much use.

I think I saw in one of my salt water catalogs Shimano is selling a 300 series curado, bigger than the 200 series might be a better match for serious muskie fishing, but maybe righty only at this time.

Classic rock, although I will listen to anything I feel is good, there is a cross over for good music. No Rap! Like Joe some of the older folk music still holds an interest, dating myself, Kingston trio, Peter,Paul and Mary. Favorite band ? Alice Cooper, Zeppilin, Crosby,Stills,Nash, AND Young, Meatloaf, Kansas, too many to list,heck I even like some old country stuff.

Bad thing about ice is there is water below it and it`s cold. Never been ice fishing, had lots of chances to go just couldn`t develop an interest after being out in the cold all week and getting paid for it. Guess it would save you money on keeping your beer cold.
