Turning more than one way is a bit complicated for the neckkar dudes. Yes speed can kill.

.and I thought you were gonna say she keeps warning you the price is gonna go up Joe! LOL Wayne, might have to run for governor to afford either?

Rainbows? meaning steelhead? Seen them rolling, jumping in schools of bait fish here on Lake Erie, just don`t think they can stop as quick as they seem to start. Minnows on the surface and no air brakes.

Charles, actually Crestliner used to or maybe still makes one. I think the model was CMV or something like that, had a 54 inch livewell and was sort of designed for muskie fishermen. It was the model I was interested in before illness caused me to change plans. Seen some guys with them on the Muskie lakes around here, and at boat displays, 18'3" rated for like 150HP. LOL stick a lot of bass in that livewell! http://www.boattrader.com/listing/2006-CRE...V-1850-91926907

attaching directly to the eye of a crankbait????

I use a snap too most of the time, size 2 or 3 duolock. R-bend spinnerbaits tied directly or a piece of rubber- vinyl or o ring over the r and a snap. -
Another one bites the dust? Frontier Airlines filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy, cites high fuel costs.

Phil, hook might be a better term, at least for me. Hooked and lost more than I care to think about and most bass fishing. My buddies have a lot better luck landing them, even in the bass tournaments on lakes that have them. Just my observations 3/8 ounce spinnerbait with a frog trailer? No Muskie, few bass, downsize to a 1/8 ounce spinnerbait Muskie hit it and no bass. Jig and pig? lots of bass and some darned muskie! The lighter the line the more of a chance for muskie. They prefer spinning tackle and 10 pound tests over a casting reel and 20 pound test. They may like docks, boat houses, pontoon boats moored, wood in the water, lily pads much more than bass, maybe they just like to eat bass?

LOL Phil, I don`t hate them! picture a muskie as a cigar smoker, nothing like a fine cigar(small walleye) seen them chasing eyes on a few lakes.

yellowboat, I started using it as a young man, back in the day worm harnesses sold here were almost all made with wire leader and some of it looked heavy enough to use as a tow cable. LOL maybe the idea was it was a built in sinker? Found use for it for making short light leaders to use on jigs on lake Erie and custom length one to use on the Georgian. Never had one open on me(wraps), I find other ways to lose fish, poor quality snaps, drag too tight for the line test. -

Farm structure? Like a pole barn posts set on concrete rounds? Back filled with dirt to stabilize the posts? Unusual for them to move once tied together, Tornadoes are unusual too though.

I fished to gamble, for fun, for education, to get away from work(real job). Just can`t imagine a reason that would make me want to keep any fish any more except to give the wife and kids a fish dinner once a year or so.

Oil was like 112 a barrel this morning, a new record high, and according to some experts no good reason for it to be that high, 60 to 80 dollar range was mentioned. High use season coming, let the price gouging begin?

We trolled for walleye on Lake Erie and the Georgian bay for years, on Erie always crankbaits, sometimes used them on the Georgian. Never lost a walleye on Erie on a crankbait due to a cut or broken line, lost some fish on the Georgian but I doubt they were walleyes. Twist Weld leaders material is easy to use and you can put a steel leader on just about anything, Stamina sells it from 20 to 150 pound test. http://www.staminainc.com/terminal_tackle/...leaderwire.html -
I believe so forrest, it`s not easy to to get them, or raise them successfully. Even stocking a pond with bass, bluegill, and catfish can get expensive. One of the reasons it is hard to get permission to fish private ponds and lakes. Numbers of fish in them are limited and they can see too muck pressure. Worse for top of the food chain fish like ski`s. Used to be a hatchery on South Bass Island, I believe Salmon at one point, interesting to see.

Do the eyes light up and blink? A flashing tail light? gimmick designed to catch fisherman. Try an 8 inch zoom lizard rigged with no weight, a lot cheaper.

LOL tinbanger, ya our walleye like tropical temps, I never headed north until late June or July, had to wait for the ice to leave. It worked, never saw any ice or snow up there, well in September.

LOL danbo, that lady has some nice sheet metal.

Small face one like pop-rs, chug bugs I fish with more or less a constant movement, i will vary the speed until I find out what they are interested in. Hula Poppers, one large pop, stop, and twitch. Like anything some days one lure or one pattern will work better than others. I don`t limit them to dawn and dusk, some lakes can have a strong surface bite any time of the day. I like to have another rod or few ready with other styles of lures if they are short striking the surface lures, a spinner bait, shallow running crank, jig run under the surface may get a solid hit.

Hey GCD!, Where did you come from? LOL area 51.

Here is a link to the Ohio department of natural resources page, might be a bit early as far as water temps go? Got to be cooler water there. http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/Home/FishingSub...34/Default.aspx

My uncle took his boat and motor to a marine dealer here for years, always got the same story, carbon build up on the heads, and a charge for removal and cleaning. Funny though the original paint seal on them had never been broken, my brother noticed it, and my uncle changed marine dealers.

Glad to hear you had a safe trip.

I bought my boat years ago as a package deal, rated for a 60 hp and sold with a 35. I have regretted not getting at least a 50hp on it ever since. 25 hp below max is a bit different than the difference between a 25 and a 30. Mine has been fine for most of the lakes here in Ohio, smaller lakes, 3000 acres or less mostly and a lot of no wake zones. It does limit me on bigger, rougher waters. Best bet? consider what the boat will be used for and on what waters, a lot of times it`s easier and cheaper to get a boat suited to your purposes than to try and upgrade later.
