  1. Shame really. That big boy was "gut" shot with a slug IMO. Unfortunately it was not a well placed shot and an animal can run for MILES after being hit like that. I'd like to give the hunter benefit of a doubt that they tried really hard to track it. It seems Gut shots will stop bleeding after while which makes tracking very difficult without any snow. Unfortunatley I know from experience, someone in our group Gut shot one. It was literally 2 days and 5 to 6 guys forming a line through the bush to stumble on him way back in a swamp. And to be honest we were lucky to find him. Give the MNR a call. They may actually have record of it as sometimes a hunter will call to report they may have to trespass to harvest a wounded animal. Very nice nine point.
  2. Nice Fish. I've retied quite a few times at that hole/run.
  3. Perfect amount! Just enough to track and crisp the leaves up. Hope you posted from the stand this morning Bri. Lol
  4. Awesome fish bud, I'am pretty sure you were out fishing an area with us one day. If so, thank you for blocking out the background.
  5. Hey Aaron, I didn't really get a good chance to try this the day I was on Simcoe. We were fishing 4-5 fters in the main lake. High percentage tech for the day was as verticle as possible. Heading out again Sun depending on how my lil ones doing. Keep ya posted. Phil
  6. Nice, and thanks for the last shot, my new desktop background.
  7. All the best Mike! I have a friend who had the same deal as you an Rick. He is 100% today. Two nuts in one place is never a good thing anyways.
  8. Would help with some material anyways!!! Here is one for ya Brian: The National Poetry Contest had come down to two semi-finalists: A Yale graduate, and a Newfoundlander. They were given a single word, then allowed two minutes to come up with a poem that contained the word. The word they were given was ' TIMBUKTU '. The Yale graduate steps to the microphone and said: 'SLOWLY ACROSS THE DESERT SAND TREKKED A LONELY CARAVAN. MEN ON CAMELS, TWO BY TWO DESTINATION - TIMBUKTU '. The crowd went crazy! No way could the Newfie top that, they thought. The Newfoundlander calmly made his way to the microphone and recited: 'ME AND TIM A HUNTIN' WENT, MET T'REE LADIES IN A POP-UP TENT. DEY WAS T'REE, AND WE WAS TWO, SO I BUCKED ONE, AND TIMBUKTU '! The Newfie won hands down.
  9. Yeah I don't blame ya Henry with all the bedbugs going on down there. I hope so Brian, although I just want to make sure you know I was kidding around in some earlier posts lol Would be nice for my partner Maureen to meet some more "ofners". I've been lucky to in the past already.
  10. Hey all, thought I would post the info about this show for those that may not of heard about it. Dates are Nov 26, 27, & 28 at the International Centre Toronto. Looks like a neat show. We have a booth in Outdoor Canada Hall, if you are attending the show please swing by and say hello. Outdoor Canada Show Link Roland "WHOA SON" Martin and Jimmy "The bowl cut" Houston will be there as well.
  11. I tried to send this via PM but said I couldn't. Not trying to spam just thought this T-shirt from us would be a cute fit for this thread. My 4 yr old perch princess schools me all the time, she gave me the idea for the shirt.
  12. Very popular now. Great for fishing docks or other shoreline structure, especailly when fishing wind blown shorelines.
  13. Crowe is a popular name. There is another Crowe in NW ontario.
  14. There is no ice hut operators there tb4me that I have seen. You are lucky to be so close. One of my favourite lakes.
  15. I was this....[ ] close to moving there a few years ago. I heard rumors of the soil and decided against it.
  16. I get it now, they bottomed out and got swamped... I see... As for the 12fter with the youngster on Erie in the fall, when it can and will blow in a heart beat... is simply irresponsible. I've been caught out there before, Mother Erie is just plain nasty and demands respect.
  17. That pic it truly heartbreaking. I was expecting a bass boat, not a deep V. Glad everyone was safe.
  18. Good for you Mike, great baits and I like the biz name!
  19. Haha, just kidding around Wayne. I respect other hunters property. However, that is a nice animal you have there. To answer the fish question....ya we did, but not a lot of muskie info. Then again, a fresh set of eyes on a property could maybe change the luck up a little
  20. Ok Wayne, not sure the deal you have with the other hunters there, but I'll make ya a deal. Let me have 2 days of bowhunting and in return I'll give you 5 years worth of personal fishing journals in the Sturgeon bay and honey harbour area for Muskie, walleye, pike, crappie and LMB/SMB. I'll even take the last week in Dec. Deal??
  21. I've seen the marks they leave in Beech trees, not sure a bear would do what you see there Lew. I'am going to guess a Bigfoot (aka Samsqanche) scratching post.
  22. I 2nd bringing the pooch to the vet... if the acting out is recent there could be something more to it. I understand your frustration Buster having been there with an older pooch..... BUT A CAT?......what the...
  23. I'd be blaming mother nature personally. Not there yet, but when I am 70 I bet my bladder isn't as good as it is now.
