  2. You can do the same thing if you want on the body of water. You can cull, you don't have to be in a tournament.
  3. I would hazard to guess the issues with the loop is "slack" line at the bail. I.e. if you are using irractic retrieves. Common issue with braid after it becomes limp after alot of use and you are using a jerk bait style retrieve. Try and insure the line, in this case braid, is tight on the reel as you work your baits. I would think your issues will be gone. I started using braid in 1999, I've not turned back. Persoanlly I love the no stretch and will use the rod to compensate if there is a need for softness/spongeness. ie, light hooksets. The purpose of backing with mono is to save money by using less braid.
  4. Leet, Personally I like to give them fresh water here and there. And always have ice on board and add when needed. Water temps will dictate for me how often this is done. Check and see if there is a recirculation switch/option. Most of the recirc's are on a timer. This will aerate the well. IF there is no recirc, I would just fill the well and add fresh water here and there. I can go much more into detail with other tricks, but if the end all is to harvest the fish the above should be suffice. Now if those fish in the well could be worth 100 grand, well then, thats a whole other ball of wax and alot more typing. Phil
  5. I'll takem!!!! That about sums it up. Thanks R. And I'll pat myself on the back, I finally figured out how to multi-quote
  6. I just really enjoy using them off the piers. They take a serious pounding and keep going. Then again I hunt down vintage clothing....anyone here have any 70's or 80's t shirts?
  7. $85 is fair if in the condition stated. They are getting harder to find in good working condition.
  8. I have 3 already or I'd grab this one. http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-home-garden-Fishing-reel-ZEBCO-CARDINAL-4-Spinning-Reel-W0QQAdIdZ292841505
  9. He should start now when heis young, that's if he even gets a shot at it. From the the folks I know in the MNR, they all had to put in their contract time at various locations across Ontario before securing a FT Perm position years down the road.
  10. If there was a BBQ, Sausages and a JP anywhere near the dogs, I think you have the cause.
  11. Shucks.. I seriously miss guiding around here, going from over 200 days a year on the water to maybe 25 sucks. But the trade off of time with my lil girls is more then worth it. I'd make the same decision again. Who knows what this future will bring. In all seriousness Wayne and others, I'd love to get out with some folks here. I have the water and gear, just nothing for us to ride in. Supply that I'll supply the rest and wicked sandweeches. Phil
  12. It's pretty tough to beat Grag Klatt or Jimmy Dodd on pressured waters in the Kawarthas if Bass and Walleye are your deal.
  13. I thought it had something to do with a Chuck Norris round house kick to the "jewels"?
  14. The cost to import these products is a large part of the increase. We have to pay for our gubberment programs some how. PS.. FishLogic, huge chicken fan.
  15. Just brutal. In various articles I have read they all seem to echo that Canada's large middle class and the lack of serious competition keep prices high.
  16. Were you wearing Amber sunglasses? Kiddin.. suckers?
  17. Never see that here for the Curado. Never. And the DT's, they were probaly the lost leader and they still got their wholesale out of it. Nothing personal, but I do get annoyed when people compare the US market to the Canadian. There is no way a Canadian tackle vendor can compete against the US pricing. I've been researching this industry for over 10 years just waiting to pull the trigger and open my own shop.
  18. Wholesale price on a Rapala is $2+ more in Canada then the US. Look at the price label on the back of books, if there was room to put it on lures there would be the same price gap. I wonder if the big box stores like Walmart have to buy from Canadian Distributors. I have no idea, but one would assume so.
  19. Naw, I bet he is down in the Carribean playing catch with a beach ball.
  20. I have a feeling alot of those folks "wish" they woke up this morning with a huge Mom tattoo across their backs. The one picture of the kid or boy or man(not really sure what to call him) in front of the Bank Of Montreal has me laughing so hard, I can't eat my lunch.
