Not sure how many of you follow the OHL, but last night the London Knights beat the Niagara Ice Dogs 2-1 to win the OHL Championship in 5 games! On another note, my sisters boyfriend Austin Watson (1st rd pick of NSH) won the OHL Playoff MVP award!!!! Congrats to the Knights and especially to Austin! Well deserved titles on both counts! Best of luck in the Memorial Cup tournament next week!

There's lots of variables.... from what I've seen/heard this year, things are WAY ahead of schedule and most of the (big girls) have already made their way back out to Lake O. That def doesn't mean the the fishing will suck, because there is a huge resident Walleye population on Quinte as well, but typically "giants" are hard to come by until the Fall/Winter. Fish in the 1.5 - 8 lb range are common during the late spring/summer months. I believe the resident fish will soon (if not already) be on their "summer" spots/patterns, which is a total BLAST as they just HAMMER crankbaits and jigs fished along weed edges. Had more than a few literally almost rip the rod out of my hands in the past few years. TONS of fun for sure!

Dabluz makes some very good points. I'd say the power of the rod depends on where you're gonna fish the most. If you fish Quinte a lot, then go with a MH (trust me), but pretty much anywhere else for Walleye... go with a Med power. 7 foot length is ideal. Another awesome (cheaper) reel is the Shimano Sedona. I absolutely love those reels, and for around the $60 mark... they can't be beat. Very smooth reels with great drag systems. If you're first thought was a Stradic, then by all means go with one. Those are beautiful reels. It's all personal preference when it comes to rods/reels.

With Quinte... there is no "normal". You either kill them... or get wind/sun burnt trying! The joys of a large body of water! lol

There are quite a few patterns on Quinte that don't require trolling....

Quinte is a whole different monster than the Kawartha's. Two totally different bodies of water, and totally different personalities of fish! What works on Quinte, isn't necessarily what you'll do well with on the Kawartha's and visa versa. But, if it's walleye you're after and are coming from Ohio, then I would highly recommend Quinte. Can't argue with the numbers and/or size when you get them figured out. If you choose Quinte and would like some pointers, shoot me a PM and I'll try and help you out!

Can never please everyone..... Point is...has most of the areas that most people would need. Sux if it doesn't cover what area certain ppl need, but those are the breaks!

No difference in the apps themselves, just viewing on a computer gives you a larger screen (I hope!) Which is exactly why I love my new iPad3! The best of both worlds!
