  6. No need for a road trip, Lake O has them and Paul's 18 pounder is hanging on our wall!! You'll have to ask him about his pants though, he does his own laundry
  7. That is so awesome Mike, congrats to you!!!
  8. With all this snow, I keep thinking of this old joke. I'm sure everyone has seen it before, but it still makes me laugh every time I read it and is certainly relevant with the winter we are having. Enjoy: Dear Diary Aug. 12 - Moved to our new home in Canada. I am so excited. It's so beautiful here. The mountains are so majestic. Can hardly wait to see them with snow covering them. Oct. 14 - Canada -- it is the most beautiful place on earth. The leaves have turned all colors and shades of red and orange. Went for a ride through the beautiful countryside and saw some deer. They are so graceful. Certainly they are the most wonderful animals on earth. This must be paradise. I love it here! Nov. 11 - Remembrance Day. Deer season starts soon. I can't imagine anyone wanting to kill such a gorgeous creature. Hope it snows soon. I love it here! Dec. 2 - It snowed last night. Woke up to find everything blanketed with white. It looks like a postcard. We went outside and cleaned the snow off the steps and shoveled the driveway. We had a snowball fight (I won). When the snow plough came by we had to shovel the driveway again. What a beautiful place. I love Canada! Dec. 12 - More snow last night. The snow plough did his trick again to the driveway. I love it here. Dec. 19 - More snow last night. Couldn't get out of the driveway to get to work. It's beautiful here but I'm exhausted from shoveling. F#cking snow plough. Dec. 22 - More of that white sh*it fell last night. I've got blisters on my hands and a sore back from shoveling. I think the snow plough hides around the corner until I'm done shoveling the driveway. Dec. 25 - Merry F#cking Christmas! More frigging snow. If I ever get my hands on the sonovabitch who drives the snow plough, I swear I'll kill the sot Don't know why they don't use more salt on the roads to melt the f#cking ice. Dec. 27 - More white sh*it last night. Been inside for three days now except for shoveling out the driveway after that snow plough goes through every time. Can't go anywhere, the car's stuck in a mountain of white crap and it is so frigging cold. The weatherman says to expect another 10 inches of the crap again tonight. Do you know how many shovels full of snow 10 inches is? Dec. 28 - That f#cking weatherman was wrong. We got 34 inches of the crap this time. At this rate it won't melt before summer. The snow plough got stuck up in the road and that bugger came to my door and asked to borrow my shovel. After I told him that I had already broken six shovels shoveling out all the crap he had pushed into my driveway, I damn near broke my last one over his f#cking head. Jan. 4 - Finally got out of the house today. Went to the store to get food and on my way back a damned deer ran in front of the car. Did about $3,000 damage to the car. Those beasts should be killed. The darn things are everywhere. Wish the hunters had exterminated them all last November. May 3 - Took the car to the garage in town. Would you believe the thing is rusted out from all that salt they put all over the roads. May 10 - Moved to Florida. I can't imagine why anyone in their right mind would ever want to live in such a God forsaken place as Canada!
  9. Exactly what I was thinking Wayne. Very scary and I'm glad everyone was okay.
  10. Not me, A green Heron. Saw this video and thought it was pretty cool. Didn't know they did that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBuPiC3ArL8#t=1
  11. Ya Lew, I woke up and remembered a bit of the dream and my thoughts just wandered on to looking forward to going to Lakair this year, then when I saw your thread, I was pretty stunned to say the least. Ralphie is kind of picky about which dogs he likes, and he loved Marvin. Maybe since Marvin couldn't play so much due to his age, Ralphie just thought he was playing hard to get
  12. Very similar to this story I was reading not long ago: http://www.torontosun.com/2014/02/20/wire-deliberately-put-on-snowmobile-trails
  13. Oh wow, I'm so sorry Lew. Losing our pets is the worst thing, so sad. Ralphie is going to miss him at Lakair I can tell you that! This may sound weird, but I had a dream about them playing up there last night. Maybe that was Marvin letting us now he's in doggy Lakair heaven? I hope so bud. Give Diane a hug for me please and again, I'm so sorry for your loss.
  14. We do this all the time at Lakair when there is the fish fry. The cleaning station only holds about 2 to 3 people (2 comfortably) and they clean the fish everyone caught while everyone else goes their separate ways to get their salads and other stuff ready. Very good question Phil.
  15. Great report B. Sounds like a great time and a great gathering of friends. Smelt for breakfast sounds delightful!
  16. What a nice getaway place to go to, and the dog seems happy to be warm for a change. Enjoy your stay and enjoy your drive home. Some of the best memories are from road trips like that!

  18. What a cool video. Great catch, congrats!
  19. Thanks Art, but they haven't actually built a nest, they're just hanging around, every day, all day. I just wondered about the poop as they seem related to pigeons and I've heard their poop is bad stuff.
  20. Well I think it's a good sign Nick For the past few weeks, I've had mourning doves roosting on my front porch. Drives me nuts because they leave their little "presents" all over the place. It's not so bad right now because these little presents freeze and can easily be swept away, but they've never done this before and I hope they don't intend to stay there. All day long, when you open the door, or coming back to get into the house, they scatter, making that weird noise they make when they fly. Scares the crap out of everyone. I also worry about these "presents," are they toxic?
  21. Hahaha, I had one of those. I used to play with the cat with it, until it broke!
  22. I've got to agree with BillM on this. Paul and I do alot of driving for our fishing and vacations in all kinds of weather and the accident causers are the ones who are scared to drive. They slow everyone down, cause accidents because people get fed up and pass them, they constantly put their brakes on instead of just taking their foot off the accelerator. They tend to stay in the middle lane on highways instead of the right/slow lane which makes for more lane changes by everyone. My extra favorite ones are the ones that drive too slow (under the speed limit) on the 2 lane highways and then when you go to pass them when you finally come to a passing section, they speed up
