  17. What a great report Cliff. Congrats to Sydney for me. I can see by the smile on her face she had a really great day. Joey
  18. Well that's too bad. Fish also lose water weight as time goes on, so freezing them right away is key. It is a flawed system, as I found out, and someone needs to take a look at it and make it a little more easier for anglers. There is no way that I can think of that would allow someone to keep a record fish alive. Especially if you are not allowed to transport live fish. Keeping it alive until you get it weighed is not easy and then you'd have to transport back to the body of water to release it. Not very realistic. Why don't you get a mount done with the measurements. It definately is a trophy, and it would look great. Joey
  19. Wow Lew, those pictures are wonderful. That must have been very exciting. I've yet to see a bald eagle, but hope to soon. Joey
  20. Sounds like a super weekend The weather couldn't have been any better that's for sure. I can only imagine the thrill, and anguish, of catching and losing that musky. But at least she got to see it and had the fun of fighting it Joey
  21. Nice work Bernie. Joey
  22. Great report Limey. You're just adding up those points for our team So what are the exact inches of those fish? Thanks Joey
  23. Well, because of its size, it was actually in a garbage bag OFAH was the ones who told me it would weigh the same frozen, and doggonit, they were right. I weighed it that night before it was frozen, then we left it outside (it was January remember and it would not fit in the freezer), then I took it to the post office frozen and it weighed exactly the same. The post office tried to give me a hard time. They thought they had to sign verifying that they had witnessed me catch the fish. I politely had to point out all they had to witness was the weighing of the fish. I had to ask for the manager tho. Good luck. If you have any more questions, just ask. Joey
  24. First of all, congratulations, what a slab. Second, I just went through this with my carp in January. Download the OFAH form and print it. Take it to the post office or local meat dept. of a butcher. Weigh it and then have them put the scale serial number etc. on the form. It doesn't matter if it is dead or alive and it doesn't matter if it is fresh or frozen, it weighs the same. Good luck. Joey
