Thanks for the reples all. We had a good time. Wayne, I'm not sure who that guy is, but he seems to be able to catch fish, so I'll keep him around Glen, yes that is the new 15 year anniversary gift, a fishfinder. Please update your anniversary list. The gold and silver thing is so passe!! Besides, Crystal won't be catching me any fish will it Joey

Yesterday someone made a comment under the video on Youtube about it and now today I see the comment is gone and no comments are allowed anymore So they obviously know and don't care. Hope they get theirs! Joey

Those are great pics Wayne. We had a plane like that buzz us on Simcoe today. I wondered what those "nose hats" were for too, or should I call them plane bras Joey -
After our great day on Friday you couldn't keep us away from our "spot" again today. It was productive once again. We weren't there 10 minutes and Paul had the first fish on. He outfished me once again Our anniversary was last weekend so Paul got me this nice new fishfinder. I had never used one for icefishing before and found it was pretty handy to figure out what depth to fish. At times, the fish were in THICK!! No time to have a smoke when the fishfinder looks like this I also found out why the whities were keen to hang out here These schools went by about every hour. It got a bit cold outside for Paul so I let him join me in the hut. Even gave him the hole I was using I did manager a few, only took a pic of this one tho. So it was another great day. Paul went 8 for 15 and I went 2 for 6. They really do smell like cucumber eh!! Cheers, Joey

Okay, I wanna rant too What bugs me is when you go and buy something with cash and then when they give you your change, they balance the silver on the paper currency. Most times is falls all over or is just awkard to hold. Remember when they used to hand you your silver change first and you put it in your change purse or pocket and then they handed you the paper currency? Okay, rant over. Joey

Wow, you are brave to go out there in this cold and wind, whew!! Great report. Nice mixed bag of fish there Joey

Very well done Peter. You guys are worth your weight in gold A great service you do for society. So I almost had to laugh when the wife says her husband was supposed to be back 3 hours ago tho. When have you ever known a fisherman to come home on time All kidding aside, great video. Joey

Paul is feeling much better and is scheduled to go back to work Monday, so I decided to take one day off work to be with him on his last day off work. We decided to do what else.... go fishing We left early for Simcoe and it was a bit damp out, not really raining, and quite warm. We got out to our spot and set up. The fog rolled in pretty quick. Took a shot of some huts in the disance. Paul doing a jig. First fish on My Turn. A little guy for Paul, thought it was a herring. It rained pretty good for a bit so I decided to fish in the hut. Then all heck broke loose and a wind came along out of nowhere and almost blew everything away. The hut flipped back and Paul's chair and helmet went for a ride down the lake. After retrieving our stuff and securing the hut, we fished once more. Paul got this guy but I couldn't get my hut zipper all the way open anymore because everything that was wet a few moments ago was now frozen My turn for a nice one - 22.5 inches, woohooo. More inches for Team 5 And another one for Paul who totally outfished me today. Not sure what has happened to the universe. Think it must be off its axis So I was 2 for 4 and Paul was 8 for 12. We only kept our limit tho and look forward to having a nice Whitefish dinner. Packing up gear that was rained on then frozen was not fun tho. Might head back out tomorrow or Sunday, weather permitting. Paul's back did pretty good. Made sure he sat on a chair instead of a bucket and just took it easy. Cheers, Joey

I remember when I grew up on the Dennison Mines townsite in Elliot Lake, we played in the uranium tailings, a nice fine yellow powder, like very soft sand. We also had our own private beach and in the mornings on the weekends we'd have to swish off the yellow film on top of the water before we went in so it didn't stain our bathing suits. Sheesh. Not sure if it had any effect on my health, but so far so good right!!! Very interesting read Holdfast, thanks. And sorry about the miscarriage, that must have been hard. Joey

Alot better, because he's bored out of his mind. Trying to do menial tasks at home. I think he's going to go back to work Monday. He's still in a bit of pain, but he can walk now and only seems to have problems when he bends certain ways. He'll just have to be careful. Still no call for the cat scan appointment, that's our hospitals for ya Joey
