  11. Nice to have a day off and celebrate Canada Day the way it should be celebrated, outside and fishing Headed out from Oakville and as we are just about to leave harbour to go onto the big lake we hear someone yell "PAUL" from shore, it was Peter (Biteme)! Motored over and had a nice chat with him. Offered to take him out but he said he had "chores" LOL. Fishing was pretty slow, but I managed a nice 28 incher. She had a nasty hitchhiker, who didn't live to see another day Then Paul got a little shaker. Peter warned us that there were lots of shakers and that most of the time it was hard to tell they were even on. We fished for a few more hours with nothing and then Paul reeled in all the lines and sure as Pete said, one had a shaker on. Don't even know how long it was on for. Anyhow, Fish - meet my BBQ Happy Canada Day everyone!! Joey

  16. That's one big sucka!!! Great going Joey
  17. Glad you got to see them Lew, she is a beaut,in her own special way I forgot to mention another rock to watch out for. We took a piece off our skeg coming out of Muskrat. We went over it 3 times and nothing, then wham on the 4th. It is just before the cottage on the island. You can't see it in the water, but it is on the navigation map if you have one. So coming into muskrat, after Tombstone, and after the other Rock island, just before you have to go through the narrow part between the cottage on the island and the two milk bottles marking rocks on the east side. Hope that makes sense. Just be careful, your boat probably doesn't sit as low as ours, but it took a good chunk out and darn, makes you want to cry when you hear that noise Joey
  18. Thought you were gonna say it swung the muskie lure out onto the lake and caught you a nice big muskie Sorry about your finger. Joey
  19. Sweet Fish Larry. 7 lamprey, that's sick. I hate those things. Joey
  20. Okay, I see them, wow, what devastation, its unbelievable. Thanks for posting those hun. Joey
  21. Welcome Sam, it was a pleasure meeting you. All I have to say is "You have no idea." Joey
  22. Yes, it was a musky Lew, too bad you can't open the pics. BTW, it was not from your bay, we only went there twice the whole stay and I caught 1 pike there, that was it. There are very few weeds there now, actually anywhere on the lake for that matter, so its tough fishing there. Also, beware of a rock that is just underwater between the south tip of the island and the red buoy. We were just casting and a boat went by and the waves crested it, that's how we found it. Glad we didn't go blasting over it like we have before in that same spot. Go slow my friend, go slow!! Have a great trip. Joey
  23. Great report and pics Rich. I wish the fishing was a bit better myself, but as you said, water levels really threw them off. Enjoyed our chats and it was great seeing you two again and can't wait til next year either. Joey
  24. We pulled in around 4:30 aswell Rich. It was a hard go out there with that stained water and the low levels. You'll get the big gal next time, you've put in your time now, its your turn I know it. Joey
