  1. Link has a bunch of photos: http://www.nugget.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3466699 Watch for pressure cracks near Lonely Island - PHOTO GALLERY By Nugget Staff Posted 2pm, Feb 9, 2012 Don Kervin provided these photos of a large pressure crack on Lake Nipissing from Lonely Island on the southwest shore west to Cross Point. "As you can see in one of the pics the ridge is inverted leaving a pond that could swallow a truck," Kervin writes. "The crack has surface water most of the length." Another pressure crack runs north from Lonely Island and is about 15 feet high. Illustrating the height of the crack is Kervin's fishing partner Kerry Elliott. ——— Nugget.ca will update this story with comments from the OPP.
  2. Days like that are the reason we endure the skunks. Beautiful fish.
  3. Thanks for the review, it will be interesting to see how long the coating lasts.

  5. 2002 morning of the gold medal game. Skated from tiffin to the point. Great day!
  6. Nice, just like riding a bike eh? The rope can be used whilst going down as well as up. Glad you're ok.
  7. Great! I'll take three, does it come in muskie size?
  8. Bamboo rods have a hex shape as they are made with six triangular pieces of bamboo. Doesn't necessarily make it valuable but they are more rare. And I doubt it ever had much backbone compared to todays rods. Nice keepsakes.
  9. Nice to have more options. For those of us who don't live less than a 20 minute drive from a tackle store, CTC is a nice option. Price is always a factor, but I'd have to buy a lot of "over priced" tackle to make up for the $1.23 a litre for the gas to drive to a major store.
  10. Craig sums up how I've felt since I was about 10. But how could you not mention Balzac Bill?
  11. Give him back his stuff and walk away.
  12. I first thought about this while driving 1100kms to my fly-in fishing trip this past September, and another post reminded me again. What are your favourite places to eat at while on the road? It's getting harder and harder now with the 400 series hwy and the proliferation of chains to find a good spot to get good eats. To be honest, I don't have much to offer because the two places we used to stop at between T.O. and North Bay (the part of the province I've traveled the most) are no more. The only one I can think of is Stolley's (sp?) in Kingston. It's not on the hwy and is actually down by Queens university. Good burgers and great fries. One problem is that the clientele is predominately students and if you're older than about 25 a large group of them can be a bit much at times. An early Lunch on Saturdays or Sundays can be funny 'cause the all the kids will hung over hard.
  13. I always referred to it as the spine.
  14. That sounds like South River not Sundridge. Edit Note to self, read all responses before replying.
