I've got all my camping gear loaded in the truck and I'm ready for the road, and am leaving for the trailer in about an hour or so. I'll be staying up at the trailer till about 4:00 AM Tuesday and then it's off to Lakair and I'll be arriving about 9:30 Tuesday morning. Everybody drive safe and I'll see you all next week, whenever you arrive. Should be another fabulous GTG !!!!!!!!!

Thanks Tony, but I understand Navionics has come out with it this year, although I believe it only covers the waters east of 64
-
I've had a Shimano Sahara for a few years that I use for springtime pickeral and have been very happy with it, and it should fall right in your budget.
-
I can't find it on their website, but does anyone happen to know which Navionics chart is the one that includes Nippissing ?? I've got the 14 XG.....Great Lakes & Maritimes and know that's not it. It's not for me, I'm checking for someone else.

A very special thank you to the people at Ross Memorial Hospital
lew replied to Big Cliff's topic in General Discussion
Lucky thing you decided to visit the hospital after the walk-in clinic Cliff, but really good to hear they got you all fixed up and on the road to recovery again. I've had 3 major surgeries, and know all too well what it's like to be scared beforehand, so don't worry about it, I think it's just a normal reaction. It's amazing what the doctors can do for sick people and they deserve all the accolades they receive, but I honestly believe it's the nurses that make the whole surgical procedure alot easier.....both before and after..... with the way they look after the patients....their a very special kind of person !!!! -
Darn, wish I'd known that John, I could have hit you up for a discount
-
Beautiful stuff TJ, well everything except the hook in the finger part Hope yer all rested up for next week

When you get to spend time on the water with Roy, you don't need to catch a fish to have a great trip....it's all good !!....been there, done that !! Great to hear you boyz had a fun evening !!

Really sorry to hear about this Brian and my thoughts and best wishes go out to your aunt and all those who love her. As you know, I just lost my brother to cancer a few weeks ago, so I know just how your feeling bud. It'll be a wonderful day when they ever come up with a cure for this horrible disease.

Yeah, I'm feeling the same way taper, there's been enuff good reviews on this board about Minnkota, so there must be something to them, but it'll seem strange without a Motorguide on the boat. Heck, I may even get away from GM vehicles one of these day...... ......nahhhhh, who am I kidding
-
I've often thought the exact same thing Jack, my friends and I were always too busy having fun in all those clubs to even have time to think about getting into any trouble.

I was in Cub Scouts for awhile when I was very young back in the early 50's, then left and joined the Navy League Cadets when I was 10, graduated up to Sea Cadets for a couple years and eventually ended up in the regular Navy in '63 Every single organization was excellent but it seems as if those types of clubs aren't nearly as popular as they were years ago, unfortunately. At one time it seemed as if nearly every kid on the block was a member of one or the other.

I mentioned a few days ago that I fried my bowmount last week so I needed a new one and decided to give Minnkota a try, even though I've been a diehard Motorguide fan for many years, but figured I'd give the competition a try. I've never been a bells & whistle kinda person and just wanted a basic unit, so I went with a Minnkota Edge 55 with a 52 inch shaft. I haven't shopped at Lebarons for a couple years because of their attitude but thought I'd give them a try and was very pleasantely surprised by the way things are up there now, infact they couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful if they'd tried. I'd planned on going to BPS but their price was $30 more for the same unit and they refused to match LeB's so I said to heck with them. Anyways, I left the store at noon yesterday and headed straight up to the trailer, hauled the boat outta the water and had the new unit installed in only 2 hours, then re-installed the front depth finder, then took it for a test drive and was very pleased with the performance of the new motor. Very smooth and quiet and I think I'm gonna be very happy with it. I have a custom cover on my boat that was designed to completely cover the old bowmount and was very happy to find that it covers the new one perfectly so I don't need to have any adjustments done to it. I left the lake at 5:00 this morning for home and now I can start getting my gear together for the upcoming Lakair trip with with another problem outta the way

Yup, my preferrence is for a foot control too. Just don't leave it in the constant run position when you throw the boat cover over the prop or your week will be much more expensive than you'd planned on I'm going shopping in an hour........
