Happy B-Day my friend and all the best to you !!
-
You really DO need help

You can rent the saw for a few $$$$, build a stand with some scrap 2 x 4, and a torque shouldn't be needed. It's a lot simpler job than you think unless you want it welded. Just a thought

Happy B-Day young feller, and nice to hear it was a goodun.

Bald Eagles are one of the most beautiful birds anywhere and it's great to see them making their way into the Kawartha region and every year there seems to be more of them. Here's 2 different birds I was able to get pictures of last summer near Peterboro. There were a couple others there too but I wasn't able to get pictures of them. They were both large & brown but I don't know if they were young birds or females

Anytime I've been stopped & checked by the OPP, were satisfied with a photocopy of the registration papers. Keep them in a waterproof ziplock bag and taped to the inside a compartment and their always available when required.

I wanted a 2nd Lowrance X510c for the new boat, so when I heard BPS was having their big sale I called them to see if that particular unit was going on sale and was told by the salesman at the electronics counter that it was no longer being carried by BPS and they wouldn't be getting anymore in. OK, no big deal, I go to RadioWorld and buy it for $485. Couple days later, I want a MinnKota on-board charger and call BPS again and am told they have them, regular price is $350 but their on sale for $300 so I head up to get one. As I'm walking thru the store, I see an ENTIRE SKID of X510's sitting in the middle of the aisle and on sale for $399 .......$86 cheaper than I just payed ........ After the sonar/GPS salesman told me they don't even carry that unit anymore. I continue on to get my charger only to be told by another salesman that it's selling for $350 but if I mail in the coupon I'll get a $50 rebate. I don't figure it's a sale if I have to mail in a coupon then wait for somebody else to send me a rebate. I left and went over to LeB's where they had the exact same unit for $300 regular price ....$50 cheaper, and were having a tax free sale so the savings were even greater. I like BPS and go up several times a year, but find very often that some of the sales staff don't seem to be up on what's happening

You'll like that butt seat Jim, they make life much more comfortable when your out for a long day of casting, specially in rough water. I got one for the new boat myself.

Very very nice Joey. Springtime and new cars just sorta seem to go together

I was in LeBarons yesterday and they have $2 coupons at the check-out counter.

Dax, I've always been under the impression that it was measured from the bottom of the head to the top of the motor housing.

I ended up going to LeBarons this morning and getting the MK220 and figure it'll do the job I'm looking for. They've got their no tax sale going on up there this week so if anybodies lookin for stuff, this is a good time to save some $$$$ Thanks for your suggestions boyz.

Sad news about your bud Rick and sorry to hear it, and even sadder to think that a donated kidney could have helped him. Hopefully your post will inspire a few of our members to sign their donor cards who haven't already. Everyone in my family signed theirs years ago, including my son and when he was killed 4 years ago, it helped ease the pain knowing that he'd been so generous and that many people could have better lives because he signed his card. It's so easy to do, yet it can help so many others when the time comes.

Thanks for the suggestion Billy Bob and I'm sure it's a great unit, but right now I'm still leaning towards the MK charger.
-
I had a close-up look at the MK330 today and am having 2nd thoughts about it now just because of the sheer size of that unit. It's 16" wide and weighs in at 20 pounds. I'm heading down to the Sportsman Show on Wednesday and will have a look at what else is available, but may end up going with the 2 bank MinnKota instead.
-
Thanks Terry, I always respect your opinion. I'll be using 2 colour sonars plus a seperate colour GPS unit so I figured the 3rd bank for the cranking battery would help keep it fully charged.
-
I need a 3 bank charger for the new boat and am thinking about the MK330 and wondered if anyone uses it and has a 1st hand opinion on the unit. They've got them at LeB's right now for $300 and no tax I use a Minn Kota portable here at the house to keep the batteries charged thru the winter months and it works well, but have never tried their on-board chargers before. I used a 2 bank Guest for the last 9 years on my previous boat and it's an excellent unit, but their price for a 3 bank jumps dramatically. http://www.minnkotamotors.com/products/bat...k330_3bank.aspx

Alot of extinguishers just seem to have lousy seals in them and allow the air pressure to escape. I always carry 2 in my truck and one of them lost pressure after a couple years so I bought another from CTC and that only lasted about a month, so I returned it for another and that one lost pressure in a couple months too. The 2 I have now are fine, but just pay attention to the pressure guage and check it once in awhile to be sure it'll work when you need it. Any boat with a built-in gas tank needs one by law but their cheap insurance no matter what type of boat your using. Even if it doesn't help you in an emergency, you could certainly help a fellow boater out and for about $25 their certainly worth having. Here's a little tip for you too. If you or anyone else has a fire, whether it's in your boat, car, or anywhere else and you have more than one extinguisher available, don't use them all at once. Try putting out the fire with only one extinguisher then wait and see if it flares up again and if it does, you've still got more extinguishers available to try a 2nd time. If everybody uses theirs at the same time and it flares up again......which often happens ........you've got no back-ups left.

I've been going to the show for as many years as I can remember and still enjoy it and will be there on Wednesday. I don't really need anything but it's nice to just wander around and look at stuff and as always, I'll probably spend at least a couple hundred $$$$ on all those things I don't need There's always been free parking at Ontario Place.....an extra 5 minute walk..... but someone mentioned recentely on another post that it wasn't available anymore.
-
I understood fully Jim, but it sure seems like a loooong ways off when you say 49 days ......well, make that 48 now......& counting

I'm using the Garmin 256WT and it's an excellent unit and has been extremely accurate anywhere I've used it so far. It's also got the hands free phone feature which makes things far safer when you need to talk to someone while driving and the sound quality isn't too bad either, infact much better than I thought it would be.
