I bought a handheld radio last year but I think I'm gonna sell it and buy a fixed mount for the wider broadcast area. I spend 2-3 weeks a year on Nippissing plus the Ottawa & St. Lawrence Rivers and I think it's time to up-grade.

All the best Pal, hope it's a goodun !! BTW, your room's ready when you are

Attaboy Matt & congrats on the PB !! You gonna make it to Ontario this year, it'd be good to hook up again ??

Always good to hear about companies that still value customer service. Thanks for the heads-up Pete

The link takes me to a Windows page too Joey, but as to your question, is it summer yet, about 1/2 of Clear Lake is now wide open and I've got flowers popping in the garden, but sadly, the -13C tonight may take care of those things Oh well, it's only a few more days till April

Happy B-Day my friend, all the best to ya !!

Check with some of the local farmers in the area, alot of them offer storage spaces at very reasonable prices for both inside and outside storage. I've stored my boat inside a barn the last 9 winters for only $150 for the entire winter.

I like the members map Rick, it's good to see where everybody hangs their hats. Will you also be able to have the locations put back in the avatars ??

I don't mind the ads, specially seeing as they generate $$$$ to help run this place, but I'd still be willing to pay a small monthly fee if it was required to keep everything running. I also think paying to post in the classifieds would be a good money maker. Guys don't seem to mind paying $100 to watch the Leaf's lose a hockey game, so I don't see a problem with paying a couple bucks for all the entertainment offered around here, and what the heck, we even learn the odd thing too. Free is fun, but sometimes ya gots to pay to play With over 6000 members though, I think it would be an absolute nightmare trying to collect the $$$$

Thanks for bringing those old pics back up TJ, lotsa fun times there. Good to see the picture of Gary V again too....he was a great guy and a real asset to this board.

I've been a member of this board for a very long time, probably 8 years anyways, and in that time we've had several major overhauls around here to improve both the look and operation of this place and everytime it's the same thing. It always feels strange and awkward trying to navigate the new format and figure out how things work, but after awhile it all just becomes 2nd nature and in no time I forget how the "last board" even worked. Give it some time guys, TJ and his boyz are obviously working double duty to get everything tweeked just right but it's not all gonna happen overnight. OFC is a great place to hang out, but give the powers that be some time to iron out all the wrinkles.

Happy B-Day there young feller, all the best to ya !!

Thanks for the ego boost Phil, I always thought of myself as technological caveman

Thanks for the feedback guys, I've installed the Firefox and so far it seems to be working well and has solved the problem I was having with this new board.

I'm having a couple issues with the new board and I'm thinking if I get rid of Internet Explorer and switch over to something different everything will work better. Everybody says IE isn't that good anyhoo. Most folks I talk to recommend Firefox so I thought I'll give it a try and from what I found on Google it looks like 3.6 is the version to go with ?? Only question I have....for now anyways....if I decide for whatever reason I don't like Firefox, can I simply uninstall it to get back to IE, then try something different again ??
-
The new board looks good Rick, thanks for taking the time to set it all up. Only problem I have so far is when I'm scrolling thru a post it's extremely jerky and almost impossible to keep track of where I am. It's hard to explain but when I'm reading a post and scrolling down it's almost like all the text is flipping over each other, almost as if you were trying to read something thru wavy water........if that makes any sense. On the main page though, when reading down the list of forum topics, everything scrolls very smoothly. Any thoughts ?? EDIT++++ OK, something I just realised is that this problem only happens when I'm logged in. When I log out it doesn't happen and the pages scroll very smoothly. Wierd stuff

Fess Parker, TV's Davy Crockett, dies at 85
lew replied to kickingfrog's topic in General Discussion
I was one of the origianal baby boomer kids and very vividly remember watching the old Davy Crockett show on our 8" TV. I was also one of about a gazillion kids running around the neighborhood wearing the buckskin coat and coontail hat Good times back then !!!! -
Sorry to hear about your Dad but it sounds like you've got many wonderful memories of him and they'll stay with you forever.

Shimano in Peterboro is excellent, I had a problem with a 400 Calcutta last year so took it into them and they had it all fixed up the next day and never charged me a cent for their troubles. Great service from a great company.

Thanks Roy, that makes for a nice long season........ if Mother Nature co-operates.
-
Thanks Larry, nice to see a musky report. Is it a year long season in Quebec ??

Surprised to see you posting here again Garry, it's only been a couple weeks since you made a big thing about nobody replying to a couple of your posts and said you were leaving OFC permanently because you weren't getting enough attention

I've always had good luck selling stuff here in the OFC classifieds but I recentely had a set of nice wheels listed for sale but nobody was interested, so after leaving them posted here a month I listed them on Kijiji and sold them the next day for full asking price. I had a total of 5 differerent guys wanting them with-in 2 days. That was my one & only experience with Kijiji, but it worked good for me.
