  1. My condolances Jon, it's always tough to lose a bud.
  2. I was just watching Lunkerville last week and got to wondering when your show was gonna be on. Looking forward to seeing it.
  3. Sorry to hear about your recent tough luck Rick, but you've overcome bad times before and you'll do the same this time. Take care of yourself bud.
  4. Cliff, Shediac, New Brunswick is nicknamed the "Lobster Capital of the World" although I'm sure the town tourist board of the day came up with the name We did have some excellent lobster when we were there although it was mid-summer. Don't know if time of year makes a difference with lobster though
  5. Everything that Craig said, and then some, although when I was at Peggy's Cove 27 years ago it was early morning and we nearly had the place to ourselves. Guess things have changed over time We've taken a motorhome to the coast 3 times now and every trip has been fantastic. There's just sooooo many beautiful places to see you'll never even come close in one trip but you'll have a fantastic time seeing whatever you can. On one trip we took the St. Lawrence River route and crossed down into New Brunswick and then did PEI and on 2 other trips we took the ferry across Lake Champlaine (sp) then went thru Vermont, New Hampshire and up into Nova Scotia from there. Whatever route you take you'll have one of your best vacations ever and meet some of the nicest folks you'll ever come across.
  6. I'm gonna agree with aniceguy too. If you start out with a 20 year old boat you could be getting yourself into a whole bunch of problems. You should be able to buy a newer, complete rig for a decent price if you do some shopping.
  7. Very nice indeed.
  8. And you definetely don't want to ever post the pictures on the internet cause all the so-called "experts" will tear you apart.
  9. I think if people stopped worrying so much about who caught the biggest fish, they'd have more time to enjoy fishin'
  10. I had a seized drain screw a few years ago and got it loosened with a tool I borrowed from a friend that was like a spring loaded screwdriver. You put the driver bit in the screw slot then hit the other end with a hammer. It automatically twisted to the left when hit then the spring pushed it back out to be hit again. I'd worked for about 30 minutes trying to free this screw but one smack with this gizmo and it was loose. No idea what it was called but it sure was slick !!
  11. I've got a cabin booked on the West Arm for a couple weeks in August so I've been keeping my fingers crossed as well. Last year was definetely interesting up there.
  12. Once you get the screws out and the oil chagned, be sure to put new washers on the screws before you put them back in.
  13. I run stabilizer all the time in all my gear Cliff.
  14. You just need to start gettin up earlier Paul
  15. It was such a gorgeous day today that I decided to finally bring the boat outta the garage and putz around with it. I hooked up the water pressure gauge 1st then it was time to start the engine for the 1st time this year. I hooked up the motor muffs, primed the bulb a couple times and hit the key. Before the motor even made a complete revolution the 150 horses kicked in & the big girl was purring like a kitten. Gotta luv those Yamaha 4 strokes I spent an hour just puttering around with it then gave it a good wash stem to stern to get rid of the winter dust and now she's all set to go once the water softens up a bit. Can't wait for the 1st run up the lake !!
  16. Fantastic news Kelvin !!
  17. Beauties for sure Mike !!
  18. Condolances on the loss of you Mom.
  19. Excellent news Brian, congrats to the whole family !!
  20. Happy B-Day to the REAL boss around here !! All the best Monique !!
  21. I had a herniated disc repaired about 11 years ago Darren and hafta tell ya, I was nervous as hell going into it, infact even scared at the thought of the Doc cutting around my spine, but it turned out to be nothing compared to what I was expecting. I went home from the hospital on the 3rd day with the least amount of pain I'd felt in a year and within a couple weeks the pain was all just a bad memory. Your problems sound a bit more serious than mine were but good luck with whatever the Docs have to do and hopefully you'll come out of it all as well as I did.
  22. All the best pal, from both me & the Mrs.
  23. Atta Boy Pete, I knew you'd do well !!
  24. Paul, my son spent a year in Shanghai and then another year in Bejing as foreman for the iron workers for some buildings his company was putting up. He had mostly Chinese crews working for him and said they were some of the best guys he ever worked with. He also said China was one of nicest countries he ever worked in. He totally enjoyed every minute of his time there and was planning on going back again, but sadly that wasn't to be. Jim's best friend also worked there with him and married a Chinese lady and enjoyed the country so much he now lives there permanentely. Tell you daughter she can probably look forward to a very enjoyable time if they do go over there.
  25. It's a good idea Dax but I'm not gonna make the Odyssey this year. Gonna be the 1st one I've ever missed.
